Today, during a lunch with a few women, I was asked whether I was Republican or Democrat by someone I knew very briefly, that I had met last year.
It's important to know that I live in a very Republican area. Orange County Retirees.
2/ One of my friends said that if we were going to discuss politics, that we had to have civil discussions.
I had no idea what that meant since I didn't know this person, so I braced for it.
I asked, "Is that important to you"?
She said, "no, not really, just wanted to know".
3/ She continued, "I'm just curious".
So, I said, "I used to be one, long time ago. But the Republican party is no longer the party I knew or remembered. I'm a registered Democrat now."
She then asked me if I followed the news about the Mueller Report.
4/ Wanted to know what I thought of the information. She said that she didn't feel much like a Republican any longer, but is still registered.
So...........we talked. I told her what I thought.
What's interesting is that she listened, asked a few questions.
5/ She said that she didn't always watch Fox, but had not heard of the things I told her. (i.e., rule of law, why the report is important, how we have more info, indictments of so many, how corrupt Trump is)
Then I told her the story of his father/grandfather Drumpf.
6/ She listened and said it was fascinating. She felt like she was hearing a completely other side to what she knew. (NOTE: She's a retired teacher).
She listened. Thanked me.
7/ As she left she told me that I should tell more people what I know. Do it in a small group to begin spreading the stories and facts.
I asked her where in Redding could this happen?
She said, "It started right here. Maybe we should think about it?"
She thanked me for the info, left. Maybe I'll see her again playing golf or somewhere.
As she left for her car, she said to me that the most important thing she feels she needs to do know is get Trump out of office. I helped her with that.
So that's a good thing. Right?
