A short thread on what actually happened in #Charlottesville, as detailed in @IntegrityforUSA’s suit: integrityfirstforamerica.org/our-work/case/…

The violence was not spontaneous. It was meticulously planned by these Nazis for months in advance via a platform called Discord.
@IntegrityforUSA These neo-Nazis & white supremacists discussed everything down to the details of what they’d wear, which weapons they’d bring, and whether they could claim self-defense if they ran over protesters with a car. Here’s a photo from the Discord chats of a “protester digester.”
@IntegrityforUSA That Friday night, they marched through the streets of #Charlottesville chanting things like “Jews will not replace us,” “Blood and soil,” and “White lives matter.”

They surrounded and attacked members of the C’ville & UVA community, including with their tiki torches.
On Saturday, they marched military-style, carrying swastikas, chanting racist, homophobic, & anti-Semitic slurs, and attacking community members (including clergy). And then they did exactly what they said they would, plowing a car into peaceful protesters, inc Heather Heyer.
So @IntegrityforUSA, we’re suing the 2 dozen Nazi leaders responsible.

The KKK Act of 1871 protects against conspiracies to commit racially-motivated violence - exactly what happened in #Charlottesville.

Pls consider retweeting & joining our fight here: integrityfirstforamerica.org/our-work/case/…
