"Carbon capture and sequestration, or CCS, is being actively used in only a few places around the world. There's a reason for that: It's very expensive.": That's why they want to mobilize the public to pay for it rather than the energy corporations

"The process routinely saps 30 percent of a plant's power, resulting in the uncomfortable conundrum of having to burn more coal to clean coal-dirtied discharge. It also drives up the cost of electricity.": they want the public to pay more for their bills & use more coal too.
Rebelling for "Net" zero means rebelling to pay more for your electricity:

"Carbon capture & storage "could still hike the cost of electricity for consumers by 30 percent."

#ExtinctionObedience
Notice the wording? All cost to be borne by the consumer, not the producer. Not the state. Not the European Central Bank.

That is why they want to hold on to the "net" zero fairy tale.
Here is the net zero catch:

"If coal were abandoned as a primary fuel source, massive new developments in solar, wind and other renewable sources would be needed to fill the hole.

That could cost twice as much as widespread implementation of carbon capture and sequestration."
It would cost twice as much to the energy producer to go for wind & solar so they want to retrofit their plants instead with net zero technology and get the public to accept electricity bills going up by 300%.

This is why #ExtinctionObedience uses the net zero terminology.
There are two strategies ahead: #ExtinctionRebellion or #ExtinctionObedience.

#ExtinctionObedience wants net zero carbon emissions. The real #ExtinctionRebellion needs to drop the net zero terminology & demand only renewable energy in wind & solar, no carbon capture & credits.
