"FTC Brings First Case Challenging Fake Paid Reviews on an Independent Retail Website"

You guessed it - AMAZON

What does this mean? It means all of those "Best Selling Books" best watch their azzes & complaints should be filed. @SidneyPowell1
2) “People rely on reviews when they’re shopping online,” said Andrew Smith, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. “When a company buys fake reviews to inflate its Amazon ratings, it hurts both shoppers & companies that play by the rules” ftc.gov/news-events/pr…
3) The company they were paying to write up 4.3 star reviews was amazonverifiedreviews.com. I don't recommend going there unless you have blockers in place - lots of pop-ups and attempted downloads.
4) Consumers can file complaints with the FTC. Just thought I'd mention that. 😉
