Sunscreen sux: a thread. cnn.com/2019/05/06/hea…
I know I am practically the only person alive that thinks that sunscreen is a colossal scam for anything except preventing wrinkles, but it is a complete scam. There is zero evidence that it reduces skin cancer - potentially quite the opposite.
Sunscreen INSTANTLY raises oxybenzone in the blood, and "studies have shown a potential link between oxybenzone and lower testosterone levels in adolescent boys, hormone changes in men, and shorter pregnancies and disrupted birth weights in babies."
It's awful: "A Swiss study found oxybenzone or one of four other sunscreen chemicals in 85% of breast milk samples...
And Hawaii,...Palau and Key West recently banned sunscreens containing oxybenzone and octinoxate because they cause coral bleaching....
And while we are on correlation. The more sunscreen, the more skin cancer. But no one cares but me.
Two perfectly sane but completely rejected hypothesis: 1) chemical sunscreen (as opposed to clothes) blocks the rays that cause sunburn, but not the rays that cause cancer; 2) chemical sunscreen actually causes skin cancer.
Think I'm nuts? Ask yourself why the recommendations for sunscreen use don't take account of the differences between skin types.
One thing is certain. The sunscreen market is huge and goes right up with cancer rates.
End Rant. Don't smear nasty stuff on your skin when a shirt and hat are available options. Don't take expert advice at face value. Subpoena Bill Barr.
