A human organism w/its own DNA, history, & telos (that of preserving its life), distinct from that of its parents
Human fetuses are human offspring at an early developmental stage (approximately once they've acquired all major organs)
The same applies to a fetal pig: it is a living organism & a member of the species S. scrofa
For example, one might agree, but think it doesn't yet deserve rights
Or one might think that it's ok to painlessly kill certain humans provided it reduces crime rates, poverty, etc
Because humans must work *hard* to strangle the voice of their conscience when they wish to subjugate or murder innocent humans on the basis of biological characteristics they cannot control, especially for socioeconomic reasons
Not one of the common pro-abortion "arguments" would have ANY force w/o first dehumanizing the victim
But I will point out the similarity in argument *form* used to defend such cruelty historically
All of our "favorite" pro-abortion arguments have proslavery analogs
- Don't like [owning slaves / abortion]?! Then don't get one!
- How dare you try to tell people what to do w/their own [property / body]?
- Being forced to [free slaves / have children] will economically harm [slaveholders / women]!
- It's the law of the land. You are trying to undermine rights guaranteed to us by [Dredd Scott / Roe v Wade]!
Pray for our people, who will one day be considered monsters, cowards, or fools for what we have allowed to transpire ☹️
This wasn’t an attempt to draw a hypothetically comparison where one didn’t actually exist historically
What we are asking of ALL parents:
If you are responsible for putting a child in a needy & endangered state, you must provide routine care for them until such time as they can be safely transferred to a third party
It’s quite simple. Take care of your offspring, born or unborn, until someone else can step in
