@jason_howerton A human fetus is a member of the species Homo sapiens; i.e., it is *objectively & scientifically* speaking a human

A human organism w/its own DNA, history, & telos (that of preserving its life), distinct from that of its parents
@jason_howerton The term fetus is borrowed from a latin word meaning "offspring"

Human fetuses are human offspring at an early developmental stage (approximately once they've acquired all major organs)

The same applies to a fetal pig: it is a living organism & a member of the species S. scrofa
@jason_howerton Folks confuse the scientific, philosophical, & ethical connotations of the term. One can admit the OBVIOUS truth that a fetal human is a living human being & yet still be in favor of legalized abortion

For example, one might agree, but think it doesn't yet deserve rights
@jason_howerton Or one might think the fetus deserves to have its rights considered, but that, in the instance of abortion, its rights are exhaustively superseded by those of the mother
@jason_howerton Or one might think that sometimes it's reasonable to end the life of a rights-bearing human if they are likely to have an unpleasant future

Or one might think that it's ok to painlessly kill certain humans provided it reduces crime rates, poverty, etc
@jason_howerton So why won't they admit the obvious truth?

Because humans must work *hard* to strangle the voice of their conscience when they wish to subjugate or murder innocent humans on the basis of biological characteristics they cannot control, especially for socioeconomic reasons
@jason_howerton The common poison at the heart of all such attempts is DEHUMANIZATION. Only through dehumanization can otherwise decent humans unleash the monstrous cruelty that lurks within

Not one of the common pro-abortion "arguments" would have ANY force w/o first dehumanizing the victim
@jason_howerton I am NOT asserting moral or harm equivalence, so don't @ me

But I will point out the similarity in argument *form* used to defend such cruelty historically

All of our "favorite" pro-abortion arguments have proslavery analogs
@jason_howerton - The [slave / fetus] is not a human being!
- Don't like [owning slaves / abortion]?! Then don't get one!
- How dare you try to tell people what to do w/their own [property / body]?
- Being forced to [free slaves / have children] will economically harm [slaveholders / women]!
@jason_howerton - If these [slaves are freed / children are born] they will be subjected to a life of abject privation! Indeed, we are doing a kindness to the [slave / unwanted child]!
- It's the law of the land. You are trying to undermine rights guaranteed to us by [Dredd Scott / Roe v Wade]!
@jason_howerton But NONE of that matters if the unborn are exactly what both the clear deliverances of our senses & science reveal them to be: human beings

Pray for our people, who will one day be considered monsters, cowards, or fools for what we have allowed to transpire ☹️
@jason_howerton Addendum: In case I was unclear, all of those proslavery arguments were actually made by slavery apologists

This wasn’t an attempt to draw a hypothetically comparison where one didn’t actually exist historically
@jason_howerton Addendum 2:

What we are asking of ALL parents:

If you are responsible for putting a child in a needy & endangered state, you must provide routine care for them until such time as they can be safely transferred to a third party
@jason_howerton This is true whether or not the child you are responsible for placing in a needy & endangered state has been pushed 7 inches down the birth canal

It’s quite simple. Take care of your offspring, born or unborn, until someone else can step in
@jason_howerton We cannot abide discrimination against innocent humans on the basis of biological characteristics they cannot control, particularly when such discrimination takes the form of elective killing, e.g., for socioeconomic reasons
