#THREAD | I'll be tracking pro-govt deaths again for the #Idlib #Hama operation. Some notes:
- ALL deaths come from pro-govt sources
- Exact places of deaths are only partially accurate
- Numbers KIA should be viewed as approximations
- If I post anything wrong please correct me
#Idlib_Dawn operation began May 6 targeting #Qalaat_alMudiq axis on #Hama

At least 10 loyalist KIA including 1 on Jub Ahmar (#Latakia/#Hama border)

HOWEVER May 6 was also 'martyrs day' so Facebook was flooded w/ old martyr posts making collecting accurate data very difficult.
7 of these deaths were #Tiger_Forces w/ 6 from #Taha_Regiment's Maskana Group and Omar Naqr Group (pic)

Jub Ahmar death was from #4th_Division, although I was told there were many other deaths here not reported on loyalist social media.
May 7 saw large uptick in reported deaths (some may have died May 6)

18 reported KIA including 3 Lieutenants and the commander of #Tiger_Forces Zarif Regiment's Group 14 (Pic).

Some posts claim he died of injuries from a couple days earlier, others claim he died May 7.
8 #4th_Division's #42nd_Brig (Ghaith Forces) KIA in the NLF attack in Jabal al-Akrad (all men claimed by a fellow 4th Div fighter).

Interestingly they all came from Zakiyah, Damascus & Bakkar, Dara'a

A separate KIA in #Latakia, maybe part of this attack
At least 3 KIA in fighting on #Tel_Bakr in #Sahl_alGhab #Hama

1 from the 4th Corps' #6th_Division/#85th_Brigade
Strangely, the other 2 are Palestinians from the #Wafideen Camp in #East_Ghouta #Damascus
Rebel Al-Fatah Battalion claimed this attack
At least 3 other KIA on #Tel_Osman back on the main axis. One of these men was a Christian #NDF fighter from Dwel'a #Damascus (reportedly a sniper, see pic)

A #9th_Division fighter also died in #Hama, possibly on #Tel_Bakr
Units w/ reported KIA so far:

9th Division
85th Brigade/6th Div/4th Corps
NDF (unknown locale)
Tiger Forces (Zarif Regiment & Taha Regiment)
42nd Brigade/4th Division

Meanwhile units of the Hoareth Regiment arrived during the night
Fighting now ongoing within #Kafr_Nabudeh
Main govt forces appear to be the Tiger Forces:

Taha Regiment
Tarmeh Regiment
Haider Regiment

Video appears to show govt armor in the city
2 more #4th_division martyrs from yesterday, both killed in #Idlib (1st confirmed 4th Div deaths on the main axis)
This confirms reports I saw of new 4th Div reinforcements arriving at the #Qalaat_alMudiq axis on the evening of May 7
Seems the Firqat al-Hamza grad rocket firing on #Nubl & #Zahra #Aleppo may have killed one man, possibly from Homs (have only seen his death announced on local #Homs pages)
Yesterday, May 8, #Syria|n forces captured #KafrNabuda from the opposition.

Credible source told me 20 govt KIA and 1-2 tanks destroyed in the initial push

So far though there have only been 7 reported deaths:
1 in #Mahardeh killed by shell
1 in #Latakia
5 in #KafrNabuda
Among the reported KIA was the commander of #Tiger_Forces #Taha_Regiment's Hossam Group (Pic 1) & a Tiger Forces tank crewman (pic 2)
Military Security Branch 219 Bowashq Group also reported 1 KIA around #KafrNabuda
Lt Col Dourid Awad, #Tiger_Forces Artillery commander, injured his foot & is was sent to the hospital
Involved in the push for #KafrNabuda were:
9th Division
4th Division
Mil Security Branch 219
Mahardeh NDF
& the following #Tiger_Forces groups:
Hadi Regiment
Taha Regiment
Sabbour Groups
Tarmeh Regiment
Zarif Regiment
(more groups will surely pop up)

10 reported KIA in #Hama & #Idlib as #Syria|n govt forces captured the largely abandoned #Qalaat_alMudiq & opposition forces announced the formation a large joint operations room.
Some interesting deaths here:
2 men from Raqqa likely belonging to #9th_Division 'shock' units (pic 1) as well as the first definitive #Tarmeh_Regiment death from the #Tiger_Forces (pic 2) from #Qomhana (where #Russia|n PMC works closely w/ local NDF)
Fighter from the 109th Battalion, 89th Brig of the #9th_Division KIA in #Idlib

Also the 1st reported #Liwa_alQuds #Palestinian death. LaQ has sent just a few units mostly used to guard captured areas.

Reports of #Russia|n PMC involvement in #Hama offensive may be linked to them
May 10 |
Big jump in reported deaths - 20 KIA in #Hama & #Idlib w/ at least 6 killed in #Kafr_Naboudeh

Front remained largely static as opposition launched a failed counter-attack

This matches loyalist claims of 30 deaths between May 9 & May 10
8 #Tiger_Forces KIA | A possible field commander from #Leith_Groups was killed along w/ 5 members of #Tarmeh_Regiment (1 from #Qamishli !) & 2 additional TF fighters of unknown groups

Also reported were the 1st 2 #1st_Division deaths, a captain & 1st Lt from #61st_Brigade
Interestingly, 2 men in unknown units from #Douma #Damascus died - it's unclear if they were ex-opposition or veteran loyalists.

A very interesting dynamic if they were recently conscripted men, knowing what unit they fought in is key.
May 11|
11 reported KIA as #Syria|n govt forces captured several small hamlets in #Hama #Sahl_alGhab

#Tiger_Forces appear to have taken a back seat in the day's fighting as most deaths come from new units - only 1 claimed TF KIA.
1st confirmed #5th_Corps casualties (May 9 had 1 unconfirmed) as a Lt was reported injured & 2 possible affiliated fighter KIA

Another #9th_Division man & 2 more #Liwa_alQuds KIA

1 #Tiger_Forces from #Ruhaybah (captured in Apr 2018) KIA. Unknown if he is ex-rebel.
Most interesting is the reported #Hezbollah death from #Lebanon

Some claims he died in #Aleppo (no fighting there?), others say #Idlib & I can't find any claims of his death prior to May 11

This op is NOT #Iran|ian led, it's almost all #Russia|n backed units so this is strange
There is confirmed to be at least 3 ex-rebels from #Damascus region killed in #Hama fighting in the #1st_Division
May 12 |
6 reported KIA from May 12 - lowest reported deaths of the #Idlib operation

1x #Liwa_alQuds Intel Div member KIA in #Hama
2x #Republican_Guard 124th Brig members KIA in #Abu_Dhuhur #Idlib

Also a 12th death from May 11 reported, killed in #Latakia
Despite the low deaths, May 12 saw little action as the #Syria|n govt forces were expecting an opposition counter attack. When no attack came, govt went on the offensive again on May 13.

HTS shelling also killed 5 and wounded 6 civilians in #Suqaylabiyah
Meanwhile, the #4th_Division launched a failed attack at #Kabani #Latakia

45 men went MIA, 25 were found on May 13 while 20 were stilling missing as of early this morning. Loyalist circles still don't know how many died.
May 13 |
10 reported KIA w/ 7 additional unnamed deaths as #Syria|n govt forces advanced north in the day & countered an opposition attack on #Hamamiyat at night

5 deaths in #Latakia (w/ another 7 unnamed deaths claimed by loyalist sources)
4 in #Hama / #Idlib
1 unknown
In #Latakia opposition forces raided #Tel_Rahso (claiming >10 KIA)

4 martyrs were named while local pages claimed 11 men died total

Men belonged to "Naval Forces" - frmr "Syrian Marines/Jaber Marines" (personal army of Aymen Jaber) now part of SRG Coastal Shield Brigade
The first (& so far only) death from the failed #Kabani attacks on May 12 was also reported.
The Kabani attack was all #4th_Division while the above raid targeted 'Naval Forces'
Back in #Hama 4 units reported martyrs:

Col Nizar Mahmoud, commander of the 800th Battalion #Republican_Guard died either in #Hama or #Abu_Dhuhur #Idlib

#9th_Division's 43rd Brigade

1st #8th_Division martyr of the operation died in #Hamamiyat - member of the 33rd Brigade
The commander of #Tiger_Forces #Haider_Group 11 was also killed somewhere in #Hama

"Abu Ali Sumer" was from the Muhajireen neighborhood of #Homs

I found him & his FB profile last year while researching the Tiger Forces structure - he took part in all the major TF ops for years
