So I've seen a lot of "here is an easy fix to make Dany's slaughter make sense!" and oh... trust. Trust, they knew exactly what they were doing. There were a million ways to make this "make sense." That was not the point. #GameofThrones #GameOfThronesSpoilers
The whole thing was the last in a long like of "the plot needs the character to do the thing" rather than "the thing arises from the choices of the character" - see previous episode with Rhaegal's death/Missandei's execution leading to her "snapping"
Of course they probably deliberated on how to make Dany's choices more "in character" and "make any goddamn sense" but they went with Dragon Hitler because the plot needs to justify the violence the (sympathetic) (male) characters are going to do to to her in the next episode.
Like they are going to put Dany down like Old Yeller, and they're going to be real sad about it! But it's just toooooo bad because she had the ~*~bRaiNwOrmS~*~, and the only way they can narratively justify this is if the battle at King's Landing is completely unforgivable
all because these dingbats thought they could make this descent into power-hungry madness work in the last two episodes, even though HBO was willing to basically give them infinite time and resources. ugh ugh ugh
No I will not tweet about anything else, but DON'T WORRY, it'll all be over soon.
