When voting this morning please remember:

👍 You don't need ID,

👍 You don't need your polling card unless you are on the register anonymously (for security reasons) - If you are then your polling card will not have your name on it but will have an alphanumeric code instead,
👍 You can bring your dog with you and in rural areas you can tie your horse up outside,

👍 If you make a mistake on your ballot paper then put a cross through the paper and return to the clerk and advise them you've made a mistake and need a reissue,
👍 Take your child with you if you wish but make sure you are the only person marking the ballot paper as it is your vote and you must be 18 or older to vote in this election in the UK,

👍 If you need help then just let the clerk or presiding officer know,
👍 You can return any unsent postal ballot paper to any polling station before 10pm tomorrow night or to the electoral office at the council before they close,

👍 If you have access requirements then let one of the polling station clerks or the presiding officer know,
👍 If you have an emergency and cannot vote in person then you may be able to nominate an emergency proxy. Contact your council electoral officer before 5pm and ask for an emergency proxy,
👍 If you need to, you can ask for a companion to accompany you to vote. For security reasons and to ensure voters aren't influenced in their votes, the presiding officer may prevent the same person accompanying multiple people to vote. See the clerk's for advice,
👎 Don't attend the polling station wearing political clothing, badges etc which could been seen to intimidate or influence other voters,

👎 Don't be intoxicated,

👎 Don't take photos in the ballot booth and don't take photos of your or any other persons ballot paper,
ℹ️ You may be approached by a teller outside polling station. They ask for your polling card number to record that you've voted but you are not required to give them this nor are you required to tell them or any other person how you voted. If you are concerned speak to a clerk,
😖 If this is your 1st time voting or you haven't for a while, don't worry. The polling clerks will help you and will answer any questions you have about how to vote etc. Although they can't give you advice about party policies, candidates or recommend who you should vote for,
Finally, have fun. Voting may come across as very dry but you are playing a fundamental part in the democratic process and you are helping shape policy and voting to elect legislators who will sit in the European Parliament. #EP2019 #EP19 #EUelections2019 #EuropeanElections2019
For the avoidance of doubt. The phrase "tomorrow night" refers to the evening of Thursday 23rd May 2019. Polling stations close at 10pm but if you are in a queue before the station closes then you will still be able to vote.
While voting results may be announced in England, Wales and NI on Sunday, Scottish results will not be announced until Monday. This is due to strict observence of the Sabbath in the Western Isles. As whole of Scotland is one region results will only be shared when all counted.
