Trump has a plan to beat Biden. Unfortunately, there is good reason to think it will work extremely well.

Let’s hope primary voters wake up and realize Biden isn’t the “electable” one. salon.com/2019/05/28/tru…
Trump doesn’t care if you call him a hypocrite for suggesting Biden is racist. All he cares about is getting a few percentage points of Democratic voters to refuse to vote for either him or Biden. If a couple million sit out the election, Trump wins.
Clinton’s regrettable 1994 efforts to support her husband’s bad crime bill are one the many things that cost her the election. Trump is right to believe it will do even more damage to Biden, who is less likely to apologize and who actually helped write and pass the thing.
Yes, Trump will do this to any nominee. But I fail to see why Democrats should make it easy for Trump by nominating the candidate who is literally the easiest target in the race. Find someone who has less baggage they have to constantly answer questions about.
“Trump’s going to use wedge issues against any candidate Democrats run, so they might as well nominate the guy who is the most vulnerable to those attacks” is not a convincing argument.
It’s like a character in a horror movie saying, “Well, the killer is going to look for me, so I might as well wear bright colors and run around saying, ‘Here killer killer!’” Don’t do that! Try to hide! Maybe he won’t find you! Duh!
It’s like saying, “Sometimes seat belts don’t work, so there’s no point in wearing them.”

Or saying, “Vaccines only protect against some diseases, so no point in getting them.”
Yes, all candidates have some risk! But that doesn’t justify backing the one who has the most vulnerabilities.
“If voters stay home instead of vote for Biden, then they deserve Trump” is also a bad justification for nominating a bad candidate. What about the rest of us? Why do we deserve Trump because the Democrats want to nominate their least appealing candidate?
