I think it's time we had a real world discussion about "Flying Car Absence Disorder", or FCAD.
FCAD happens in adults 50 and over, otherwise known as "The Generation Still Waiting on the Flying Cars We Were Promised".
FCAD is a serious psychological disorder that results in a lack of trust in the "experts" that predict things like...well..."In the year 2000, we will all have flying cars!"
It didn't happen. Neither did we run out of oil in the 90s, the ozone layer didn't disappear, etc.
Some of the signs of FCAD are a raised eyebrow and facetious chuckle when someone like @algore tries to convince us we're all going to burn because of global warming...oops, "Man Made Climate Change" (they can't call it global warming anymore).
Sorry Al, we've been through all of this before. In fact, we're supposed to be encased in ice right now, with no fossil fuels available, and no food or oxygen because the Amazon Rain Forest is gone.
Forgive us for doubting, but our FCAD is acting up.
The only cure for Flying Car Absence Disorder is to stop making unfounded predictions and telling us the only logical cure is a bigger government. We know better. The government is already $22 trillion too big, and I my car still doesn't fly.
So, I'm just going to sit here and wait for that flying car I was supposed to get 19 years ago, and continue to roll my eyes at the other worthless predictions and fear mongering I read on social media.
If it ends with "give us more of your paycheck", you can bet it's a scam.
