In fact 12 people were murdered in Friday's mass shooting, but Sam's point stands. Moreover, four other people were wounded, and many others in the building and/or who are connected to the victims and survivors face devastation. This can't ever be 'normal'
On a similar note, we did this in-depth investigation more than four years ago into what gun violence really costs our society. Beyond the awful human toll, it's remarkable how little the vast economic toll is ever part of the discussion motherjones.com/politics/2015/…
