By all means promote a two-state plan for the Israeli-Palestinian conflict... But does anyone still believe it's a *solution* to that conflict? I.e., that it would *solve* it?
My impression is many people have sobered up about what could be realistically achieved from "two states", even on optimistic reading, but the "solution" part of the formula is just a verbal tic or force of habit.
That doesn't mean there aren't good reasons for two states, if you think Occupation is immoral, or situation endangers Israel's Jewish-and-democratic nature, or think it would mitigate the conflict. But "solve"? "The 1990s called and want their foreign policy back..."
