Horse race journalism normalizes Trump. An 8 person focus group is a top story while our democracy is in crisis. I don't understand how MSM keeps falling in this same trap when the stakes are so high-- for both the public-at-large + free press..

I highly recommend this book that looks at problematic press coverage of the 2000 election and post-9/11. You'll find many parallels to what we are seeing in the age of Trump. Valuable historical context.
