“Tax cuts... as we all know, increase revenues.” – John McCain, March 2007.

McCain knew this was a lie. It has always been a lie. It was a lie in 2007. While we want to poke Trump by honoring McCain today, let's not forget how corrosive he was to our politics. #JohnMcCainDay
McCain was mindlessly repeating Laffer Curve bullshit that everybody knows is bullshit but has nevertheless become the core of the GOP's economic policy.

How can the GOP be for increasing revenue through tax cuts AND "starving the best" through tax cuts? Easy: they can't be.
McCain had the audacity to repeat this lie AFTER two rounds of GWBush tax cuts which blew a massive hole in the federal budget which we STILL haven't recovered from.
Also, let's not forget about that time on the 2008 campaign trail when McCain "joked" about bombing Iran. npr.org/templates/stor…
Yes, he foisted Sarah Palin on the country whose know-nothing bigotry because all the rage in the GOP and was a precursor to Donald Trump.
