Here's the danger, though-that in fighting darkness we become consumed by it and we begin to believe that darkness is all there is, that dangers completely surround us.
It's a skewed vision of the world, actually, a vision that makes us forget there's still good in the world.
In fighting monsters, let us not look out through the eyes & minds of monsters.
How do we do go about doing that?
That could mean simple things, like not reading trump's tweets & instead reading something about human resilience.
It could mean taking time off from resisting to relax and enjoy the company of loved ones.
It also could mean not being consumed by impeachment 24/7.
You do that long enough and trump can start to become the center of your world. And that's not very healthy, to say the least.
Did you know that the Dem House has passed 6 of 9 signature bills? Bills like the Equality Act, HR-1, and the Dream Act.
The fact that so many of the top presidential candidates are women and that they are kicking ass cannot be appreciated enough.
And I suggest that a balanced activism can create a more effective. resilient, and sustainable movement.
For the sake of our souls and our sanity, we can't just focus on trump & the GOP, and all the harms they are inflicting on us.
We need to balance our resistance fueled by outrage with a reconstruction fueled by our deepest aspirations.
