People are still insisting #sesta #fosta reduced trafficking by removing online advertising spaces. Sex workers said it would increase danger & trafficking but nobody listened.

So since y’all trust law enforcement, let’s look at what they say post sesta fosta passage. #Thread
“Reported crimes related to pimping and sex trafficking have more than tripled in 2018”…
“Running Blind: IMPD arrests first suspected pimp in 7 months
With Backpage gone, cases have dried up”…
“Police Realizing That SESTA/FOSTA Made Their Jobs Harder; Sex Traffickers Realizing It's Made Their Job Easier”…
“According to KPIX 5, while most violent crime is down in San Francisco, sex trafficking shot up 170 percent in 2018.”…
“I have seen a group of fresher faces, so that would make me think that they’re new to the street, maybe from the internet,” said Lt. Jimmy Sides, of the San Antonio police.

Law enforcement in San Antonio arrested 296 people, a 58 percent increase”…
So I mean, I hate having to quote cops, but apparently y’all still won’t listen to sex workers or trafficked people.

If you’re still unconvinced, look up the increase in large cities enacting “public nuisance” laws aimed at sex workers.
For example, Chicago is working on one
“City Council agreed to start by outlawing “prostitution-related loitering.”

The ordinance would empower police to designate areas of the city where hookers could be ordered to disperse for an eight-hour period.”…
But y’all like to be loud and wrong, even when your own sources have said this was a mistake. Smh
