The Secretary of State of the United States of America should not be “caught off guard” by the private conversations the president’s son-in-law is having with foreign leaders.
Jared Kushner had a meeting with the Russians about intelligence on Hillary Clinton and we did not know about it. He is is texting regularly with MBS and we do not know what they're saying. And yesterday Trump told reporters it’s “none of your business” what he says to Putin.
The idea that Jared Kushner and Donald Trump are running around doing all of this and nobody knows anything about it—not our state department, not national security council —that's horrifying.
