How do so many transgender people end up in the military?
People ask that question over and over again and others frequently point them to me for the answer.
So here's a thread with plausible explanations to explain the phenomenon of the Pentagon's transgender military problem.
My stance on transgender military service. If you can't serve as your birth sex and your gender dysphoria is disrupting your ability to serve because of comorbid mental health issues associated with the disorder, then you should be barred from serving.
Dr. Ray Blanchard @BlanchardPhD and Dr. Michael Bailey @profjmb describe two types of transsexuals: those with autogynephilia such as myself and the homosexual transsexual (HSTS). It's highly unlikely that many HSTS join the military.
Men with troubled childhoods and a history of sexual abuse entering the military are well-documented. The military is equally guilty of vigorously recruiting them. That's how I got there.
"Gender identity disorder is about five times more prevalent among VA patients than among the general population, and the rate of suicidal behavior among Veterans with the disorder is 20-fold that of the general VA population, according to a new study." research.va.gov/currents/fall2…
An explanation for how childhood sexual abuse turns into a sexual paraphilia:
"What if people are engaging in certain sexual behaviors to cope or to deal with PTSD or other mental health problems?"
While I was originally diagnosed with gender dysphoria and treated with hormones for six years, I've since been diagnosed with a sexual paraphilia disorder.
"The crude suicide rate among veterans with transgender-related diagnoses across the 10-year period was approximately 82/100,000 person-years, which approximated the crude suicide death rates for other serious mental illness."
In transgender, MTFs cross-dressing is frequently portrayed as a sign of being female. A more plausible explanation is it becomes part of compulsive sexual behavior (CSB) as an escape from anxiety disorders related to PTSD or other mental illnesses.
After becoming addicted to pornography while in the Army, I began cross-dressing.
"Acting out sexually. At this point, many men make a dangerous jump and start acting out sexually. They move from the paper and plastic images of porn to the real world."
Renee Richards: "I wish there could have been an alternative way, but there wasn’t in 1975. . . . Today there are better choices, including medication, for dealing with the compulsion to cross-dress and the depression that comes with gender confusion.” I agree it's a compulsion.
"Finally, some of the men described ways in which they compensated for chronic feelings of inadequacy. They sought assurances through institutional identifications (exactly one half of the men in this sample had served in the armed forces)"
You can't play both sides of this fence and still protect females, Luhrs.
"Luhrs says she supports transgender rights and protections but is worried about the future of Title IX and other protections for women if they open up to transgender women."
This captures an unspeakable truth. Conservatives and faith-based groups want to destroy transgenderism while having compassion for the sufferers. Feminists want to do something similar, claiming to support transgender rights and protections. Let's all be honest about our intent.
I think it all goes back to fear of being labeled a bigot or transphobic for many people. So they shield their behavior to avoid the stigmatizing labels. I'm upfront and honest when it comes to gender ideology, I am a bigot. I am transphobic. I deserve an SPLC hate group rating.
Cross-sex hormones are now being dished out like candy, with trans activists pushing for unskilled primary care doctors to dispense them. But the short and long term danger to your body from these off-label drugs is real. In the ER, second day now with a blood clot in my leg.
No definitive cause is going to be pinpointed but the blood clot isn't from being sedentary. I do, however, believe that my veins were damaged when the VA overdosed me on estrogen and had my level at 2,585 instead of the recommended maximum of 200.
Back home, doing okay.
Have me on a blood thinner, and an antibiotic, just gotta wait things out at this point for the drugs to work.
Blood clots are serious business, so something to think about before setting your kid up for a lifetime of hormones.
Heard of the "feeling different" narrative in nearly every gender transition?
"It didn’t make sense to me that I should want to do this and I began to feel bad about myself and I began to feel like an outsider, like no one would understand me or I didn’t fit in with other boys."
Going deeper into this article, you would think a male admitting to secretly entering the rooms of their mother and sister to dress in their clothing would raise a red flag with a therapist, wouldn't you?
Isn't that like a problem with serious boundary issues?
The second FTM now in a mass shooting: "Multiple sources close to the investigation told Denver7 late Tuesday night that the second suspect, who is a minor, is a transgender male who was in the midst of transitioning from female to male." thedenverchannel.com/news/local-new…
