Cannot see this photo without hearing the MTV theme music, written by Jonathan Elias.
Elias calls the song "Moon Landing." Great use of power chords.

Anyone want to guess how much he was paid to compose this momentous clip of music?

MTV paid Elias $1,000 for this ten-second theme, which includes a surprising modulation in it.
Elias later produced Duran Duran, who often teased him because his music was on MTV more often than their music. When they introduced him to people, they said, "This is the guy who wrote the MTV theme."
He was hired by Fred Seibert, MTV's creative director (his job, but not his title), who showed Elias the moon landing photo and said, "You're used to seeing that image as such a holy image. Well, we're gonna rip it apart with some rock music."
