Thread: News Summary from the Week that Was (14-20 July)

1. Here are the week’s stories that the legacy media either skipped, obfuscated, or never provided the proper context and follow-up.
2. Let’s get started with a hoot from Kurt Schlichter, who opines on the Democrats’ dilemma presented by the whackos in “The Squad” (AOC, Omar, Tlaib, and Presser). Here are just a few excerpts from a great article:

<quote>
2A. The pain of your enemy should be your joy, and we conservatives are pegging the joymeter right about now watching the political sepsis that is CongressKid AOC and her merry band of idiots running rampant within the flabby body of the Democrat Party.
2B. There’s only one solution to the gangrene caused by her and that brother-marrying weirdo who cheers for the wrong side in Black Hawk Down and Ms. Palestine. You have to amputate. But the donkeys can’t do it. That would cripple or kill the patient.
2C. So, what to do about the infection ravaging their party? It’s quite the dilemma.

Quite the hilarious dilemma. Pass the Orville Redenbacher while we watch them cannibalize themselves in Donner Party 2: Election Boogaloo.
2D. Oh Nancy Pelosi, you thought you could harness the eager energy of these Socialist Sisters of Mediocrity for your own purposes, but you didn’t quite understand the situation.
2E. For limo libs like you – literally, because you’re a zillionaire – all this “for the little guy” stuff was always just a pose and a cynical scam. You don’t believe it.
2E1. You just exploit it because you figure that the shiftless saps and lay-about suckers are your constituency will like it, and they do.
2F. You talk a good game about helping and caring for the downtrodden, but if one of the local bums tried to use the sidewalk in your neighborhood as a john, you’d have the Scat Francisco PD all over him like Jerry Nadler on a doughnut.
2G. You’ve gotten used to posing as the heroic rebel voice speaking out in a stirring defense of the status quo that made you rich n’ powerful. All the other Democrats used to feel the same way. You were all in on the scam.
2H. Wink, nod and back to business as usual. But these dummies, leveraging their youthful inexperience, actually believe the nonsense they spew – that you all spew – and they are now learning that you really don’t.

Uh oh.

3. Next, we find out that the recently resigned British ambassador vouched for “Mr. Russian Dossier” (Christopher Steele).

<quote>
3A. Kim Darroch reportedly told a U.S. official that Christopher Steele, the author of the discredited anti-Trump dossier that the FBI used to justify secretly monitoring members of the Trump team, was “absolutely legit.”
3B. Steele, in producing the dossier and several of its false or unsubstantiated claims, was funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and Democratic National Committee.
3C. The leaked diplomatic documents were published by the The Mail on Sunday, days after the paper published several anti-Trump messages Darroch sent to Downing Street from 2017 to present.

3D. Could it be any clearer that “officialdom in the UK” were up to their eyeballs in #Spygate? Toss in the director of their spy agency, GCHQ, who abruptly resigned right after the 2016 election, and you have a conspiracy. Who else knew? We’re going to find out in due course!
4. How about this bombshell? Peter Thiel thinks Google should be investigated for penetration by Chinese spies!

<quote>
4A. Billionaire investor Peter Thiel said Sunday that the FBI and the CIA should investigate if Google has been infiltrated by Chinese intelligence, according to a report from Axios.
4B. Thiel, a Facebook board member, was speaking at the National Conservatism Conference in Washington, D.C. and his speech focused on three questions that should be presented to the tech giant, Axios said.
4C. “Number one, how many foreign intelligence agencies have infiltrated your Manhattan Project for AI (artificial intelligence)?” Thiel reportedly asked. “Number two, does Google’s senior management consider itself to have been thoroughly infiltrated by Chinese intelligence?”
4D. “Number three, is it because they consider themselves to be so thoroughly infiltrated that they have engaged in the seemingly treasonous decision to work with the Chinese military and not with the US military,” Thiel said.

4E. No time like the present to sh!tcan everything Google (maps, Chrome, search engine, etc.), folks!
5. Next, we learn that the Trump administration is finally taking real steps to repel the invasion at the southern border!

<quote>
5A. The Trump administration is moving forward with a tough new asylum rule in its campaign to slow the flow of Central American migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.
5B. Asylum-seeking immigrants who pass through a third country en route to the U.S. must first apply for refugee status in that country rather than at the U.S. border.
5C. The new policy applies specifically to the U.S.-Mexico border, saying that "an alien who enters or attempts to enter the U.S. across the southern border after failing to apply for protection in a third country outside the alien's country of citizenship, nationality, ….
5C1. … or last lawful habitual residence through which the alien transited en route to the United States is ineligible for asylum."

5D. The only thing I don’t like about this story is, what took so long to do this! It should have been done from day one!
6. This story is shocking: the Chinese are apparently operating the equivalent of concentrations camps in the 21st century!

<quote>
6A. China's crackdown on ethnic Uighurs in the western part of the country includes a vast network of at least 124 concentration camps along with scores of labor camps and prisons, according to a dissident Uighur group.
6B. U.S. officials say there are also indications that China is expanding the use of the concentration camps in Xinjiang Province where at least 1 million people are being held, ....
6B1. ... and as many as 3 million are part of a forced "reeducation" program by the Chinese government.

6C. Here’s a summary graphic from the East Turkistan National Awakening Movement:
7. I wonder how much air time this story will get in the legacy news. The trade war is dinging the Chinese after all.

<quote>
7A. China’s economic growth slowed to a record low of 6.2 per cent in the second quarter of 2019 as the shock from the protracted trade war with the United States continued to resonate through the world’s second largest economy.
7B. Gross domestic product (GDP) growth slid from 6.4 per cent in the first quarter, according to data published by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on Monday.
7C. Even during the global financial crisis in 2009, China’s quarterly GDP growth did not dip below 6.4 per cent.

8. Here’s another good news story that will never see the light of day on CNN or MSNBC, partly because it reverses a bad Obama trend!

<quote>
8A. Hispanics are experiencing the largest homeownership gains of any ethnic group in the U.S., a turnaround for the population hardest hit by the housing bust that could help buoy the market for years.
8B. The homeownership rate for Hispanics has increased more during the past several years than any race or ethnic group, including whites.
8C. The rate, which hit a 50-year low in 2015, has risen 3.3 percentage points since then, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.
8D. The overall U.S. homeownership rate bottomed in the second quarter of 2016 and has grown 1.3 percentage points since then. For blacks, the homeownership rate has fallen to its lowest level on record in the first quarter of this year.
8E. This marks the first time in more than two decades that Hispanics and blacks, the two largest racial or ethnic minorities in the U.S., are no longer following the same path when it comes to owning homes.

9. Don’t you just love this news? Just think of all the crapola the Democrats have said that has been captured on video over the past 2 years; the campaign ads produce themselves.

<quote
9A. The Trump campaign has unveiled its 2020 campaign strategy of airing unedited footage of speeches and press conferences by far-left Democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, and that other one.
9B. GOP commercials will air the footage around the clock. The speeches will not be edited in any way. Rather than pushing their own policy proposals, ....
9B1. ... Republicans will just remind the nation of just who it is they're running against.

10. Next, we learn that the FBI knew from the beginning that the “dossier” was fake – which means that the “counter-intelligence investigation” and indeed the special counsel investigation were premised on lies.

<quote>
10A. [L]est anyone be tempted to think Steele’s 2016 dossier is about to be mysteriously revived as credible, consider this: Over months of work, FBI agents painstakingly researched every claim Steele made about Trump’s possible collusion with Russia, ...
10A1. ... and assembled their findings into a spreadsheet-like document. The over-under isn’t flattering to Steele.
10B. Multiple sources familiar with the FBI spreadsheet tell me the vast majority of Steele’s claims were deemed to be wrong, or could not be corroborated even with the most awesome tools available to the U.S. intelligence community.
10C. One source estimated the spreadsheet found upward of 90 percent of the dossier’s claims to be either wrong, nonverifiable or open-source intelligence found with a Google search. In other words, it was mostly useless.
10D. “The spreadsheet was a sea of blanks, meaning most claims couldn’t be corroborated, and those things that were found in classified intelligence suggested Steele’s intelligence was partly or totally inaccurate on several claims.”

11. How about Democrats and the legacy media supporting Antifa? Is that crazy or what?

<quote>
11A. The worst part is how prominent media figures and politicians glamorize and even promote antifa as a movement for a just cause. CNN’s Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon have defended antifa on-air.
11B. Chuck Todd invited antifa ideologue Mark Bray on “Meet the Press” to explain why antifa’s political violence is “ethical.”
11C. Keith Ellison gleefully posted — and recently deleted — a selfie of himself holding Bray’s antifa handbook. Rep. Maxine Waters met hard-left political operative Joseph Alcoff in 2016.
11D. Alcoff is currently facing felony charges for his alleged involvement in an antifa mob beating of two Marines in Philadelphia.

12. We need more of this! Move most of the federal agencies out of DC and into the interior US in order to reconnect with normal people.

<quote>
12A. U.S. Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue announced on June 13 that the ag department would ship more than 500 jobs from Washington to Kansas City.
12B. Local leaders in Kansas and Missouri cheered the bi-state recruitment effort, though it sparked an immediate backlash from employees in D.C.
12C. [But Democrats resist the move, of course, especially those from Maryland and Virginia where many federal workers live.]
12D. On Tuesday, U.S. Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Maryland, and more than a dozen other Democratic lawmakers wrote to the agriculture secretary urging him to slow down the relocation process.

12E. Heh. Let’s move the EPA to, say, South Dakota and see what happens! That’ll clear out the agency and might result in a saner wetlands protection policy, among other things.
12F. I wouldn’t mind seeing the Bureau of Indian Affairs relocated to a Sioux reservation, too. Let them get a direct taste of what they’ve wrought over the past 195 years. Might see some real change for the better over the long haul.
13. Judicial Watch broke a bombshell this week about the Obama State Dept coordinating with Christopher Steele of Russian dossier infamy, too.

<quote>
13A. Judicial Watch and The Daily Caller News Foundation today released 84 pages of documents, including a September 2016 email exchange between then-Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Special Coordinator for Libya Jonathan Winer, ….
13A1. … a close associate of dossier author Christopher Steele, discussing a “face-to-face” meeting on a “Russian matter.”
13B. The documents obtained by Judicial Watch also show that State Department officials continued to use unsecure BlackBerry devices for the transmission of classified material more than a year after Hillary Clinton’s use of an unsecure, non-government email system was revealed.
13C. “The Obama State Department was central to the effort to target President Trump with the Russia smear,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.
13D. “These new emails further show that senior Obama State Department advanced the Russiagate hoax just before the 2016 presidential election.”

14. Exposing foreign leaders for the scum they truly are is the next story that won’t be examined properly by the legacy media:

<quote>
14A. World leaders are expressing support for four far-left Congresswomen in the wake of a series of comments in which President Donald Trump challenged the lawmakers to leave the United States if they continue to criticize the country.
14B. On Friday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel claimed President Trump’s remarks about the “Squad” — made up of Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), and Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) — “undermine America’s strength.”
14C. She also said she stands “solidarity” with the lawmakers.
14D. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau joined Merkel in denouncing President Trump’s comments at a news conference with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg in Ottawa.
14E. “I think Canadians, and indeed people around the world, know exactly what I think of those comments,” Trudeau told reporters. “That is not how we do things in Canada. A Canadian is a Canadian is a Canadian,” he added.

14G. News flash for these two clowns! It’s about ideology and anti-Americanism expressed by these four disgraceful members of Congress, not racism! Kindly f@#k off (and start dealing with your own illegal immigrant problems)!
15. Let’s end this weekly summary with another “oops” begging a few questions for Mueller next week. Mueller’s got a pattern going here: using pedophiles as informants (Epstein and now George Nader):

<quote>
15A. George Nader, a key witness in special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe, has been charged in a new federal indictment with transporting a 14-year-old boy for sex two decades ago, child pornography and carrying obscene materials into the United States.
15B. <unquote>

The rest of the article is all anti-Trump, as the NBC affiliate tries to spin this bombshell: cnbc.com/2019/07/19/mue…
16. Once again, there are tons of other stories that could have made the list, not the least of which was Planned Parenthood’s “abortion” of their president just eight months into her term. Here’s a summary of what we DID cover:
16A. The first item was an hilarious bit of commentary from Kurt Schichter on the dilemma posed by The Squad to the Democrat Party.

16B. The next article examined the connection between the recently-resigned British ambassador to the US and Mr. Dossier (Christopher Steele).
16C. Then, we learned that IT tech billionaire Peter Thiel recommends investigating Chinese infiltration of Google!

16D. How about the virtually unreported new asylum rule to slow the flow of Central American migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border.
16E. Then, we learn that China is running 21st century concentration camps in Turkistan.

16F. China’s economic growth slowed to a record low of 6.2 per cent in the second quarter of 2019. I’m sure this was just accidental and not the result of trade sanctions, amirite?
16G. Here’s a totally under-reported story that Hispanics are experiencing the largest homeownership gains of any ethnic group in the US!
16H. This is spot on: the Trump 2020 campaign strategy will include airing unedited footage of speeches and press conferences by far-left Democrats. Hoist on their own petard! The campaign ads write themselves!
16I. Next, we learn that the FBI actually *KNEW* in 2016 that the dossier was fake, yet used it for the basis for FISA applications. The FBI decision-makers need serious jail time!
16J. Then there are Democrats and legacy media figures who refuse to condemn Antifa violence and even support their actions!
16K. The move of 500 Dept of Agriculture billets is a great start! If only most of the federal government could be moved outside of DC into the hinterland. Better yet, get rid of the agencies outside the boundaries of the Constitution!
16L. Thanks to the tenacious Judicial Watch, we learn that the Obama State Dept was coordinating directly with Christopher Steele. Rumor has it that there will be some heads rolling at Foggy Bottom in the not-too-distant future.
16M. Then, we find out that two foreign “leaders” made public statements supporting The Squad. Disgraceful!

16N. Finally, a key Mueller witness was indicted for pedophilia-related crimes. The Mueller report continues to disintegrate before our very eyes.
17. Whew! What a week! But it’s only going to get better, folks. AG Barr, US Attorney Durham, and DoJ IG Horowitz are waiting in the wings. Who knows what bombshells will evince next week? Maybe the UK will surprise us on Iran, too. Stay tuned! ///The end.
