I’m really not clear why people find cable news compelling. Do they really learn anything by watching the same stable of pundits say the same things over and over again? I’m seriously asking.
It seems like the goal of most of these shows is to “win”. It’s to produce the most compelling sound byte that will go viral on social media. It’s to say the most predictable thing in the most provocative way to get the most attention.
And once you pick a channel, you’re basically seeing the same pundits over and over and over talking about every issue, even if their experience is only tangential to it.
I know I’m not saying anything new here, but I didn’t have time to watch the hearing yesterday (working), and I have yet to see one bit of reporting from cable news that wasn’t focused on style. Nothing on substance. Nothing from an actual expert.
And maybe I’m not looking hard enough, but it shouldn’t be that hard to find quality news from a news station, amirite?
