1) Just started "The Boys" on Amazon and am engrossed so far. The premise is a world with superheroes ("supes") who in character are hardly super at all.

2) "The Deep" (a type of Aquaman) is a rapist; "A-Train" (Quicksilver/Flash) is on a type of steriods that . . .
2) contd . . . make him lose control. (In episode 1 he runs through a young woman at 1,000 miles per hour, just evaporating her in a burst of blood). "Translucent" is the "Invisible Man" who hangs out in the women's bathroom, and even "Homeland," the most powerful . . .
2) contd . . . is a corrupt creep with mommy issues. (He uses his x-ray vision to peep at his boss, Kristy Swanson, as she drains milk from her breasts.

3) Only the newbie, "Starlight" (forced to have oral sex with "The Deep" to gain access to the club known as "The Seven") . .
3) contd . . . has qualms about what the "Seven" are doing. Every rescue must be filmed, pollsters and marketeers weigh every public opinion ("Starlight, you're up 5 even among single women in San Francisco").
4) Opposing the Seven are "the Boys," led by Karl Urban and the boyfriend of Vaporized Girl. Through episode 2 not all their motivations are clear, and they don't claim to be heroes. But they know the group in charge with the media behind them are NOT.
5) Great scene: when A-train visits a boy in a hospital for his final wish the boy asked for Homeland and makes clear his disappointment. A-train says (posing for the cameras) "You get well then we'll go race together." The book glares at him: "Are you gonna outrun cancer?"
