1. The response to Trump's racist attacks on @RepCummings, which have been going on for several days, will leave a PERMANENT STAIN on the Republican Party

Most members of the GOP have stayed SILENT

Those that have spoken have EQUATED Cummings and Trump

It's outrageous
@RepCummings 2. Virtually every GOP member of Congress that has spoken has said some variation of: "I don’t think either Congressman Cummings or President Trump are racist"

Excuse me?

Equating the target of racism with the person being racist is not OK.
3. This isn't about Trump. This is about HUNDREDS OF REPUBLICANS IN CONGRESS.

Not a single Republican member of Congress -- NOT ONE -- has had the basic moral courage to say: I oppose Trump's racist attacks on my colleague
4. It is possible to disagree with Cummings on the policy issues but still have the basic integrity to say: I oppose these racist attacks

But that's not something any Republican in Congress is capable of doing, apparently

1. In 2024, Trump said he would deport every undocumented immigrant in the country. "I think you have to do it," Trump said. "They came in illegally."

He said "illegals" were "poisoning the blood of our country."

Then, for a few days, he abruptly reversed course.

Why? Let's follow the money
2. In a Truth Social post last week, Trump said his "very aggressive policy on immigration" was taking "very good, long time workers" away from the agricultural and hospitality industries. These workers, Trump said, are "almost impossible to replace." Therefore, "Changes are coming!
