During the debates I like to remind folks that there's a lot to be discussed and debated about wildlife conservation in this country. Is it the most important issue? Probably not. But it's something worth hearing about.
How do we protect our borders while maintaining wildlife migration routes and allowing recolonization of species such as Jaguar? #DemDebate
Does the Endangered Species Act require revision? If so, what would you revise, and why? #DemDebate
How should economic considerations be factored into decisions regarding how to protect and recover endangered species? #DemDebate
Would you support the development of additional national parks or wildlife refuges? Where would they be located? #DemDebate
How can we achieve the conservation and restoration of large predators like bears and wolves in natural areas while considering safety of humans and livestock in neighboring areas? #DemDebate
Should the USA play a significant role in encouraging other nations to sustainably harvest and/or conserve rare species? How would it happen? #DemDebate
Why is it important for the USA to regulate products (like ivory) from species that do not even occur in this country? #DemDebate
How can we improve our nation's infrastructure (e.g., roads, bridges) while accommodating for wildlife migration routes and decreasing the road mortality of rare species? #DemDebate
Is it possible to reach a point where we should give up on trying to recover a species that is on the endangered species list? When and why? #DemDebate
What does the recent decision not to list the Sage Grouse - and the dismantling of the deal following the 2016 election - mean for the future of the Endangered Species Act and how it is used? #DemDebate
How can you incentivize private landowners to conserve endangered species without the #EndangeredSpeciesAct and associated incentives? #DemDebate
What policies would you enact, if any, to reduce the potential that exotic species are introduced to the United States and how would you combat invasive species? #DemDebate
What are your positions on the Wildlife Corridors Conservation Act and the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act, both of which were just introduced? #DemDebate
What questions about wildlife conservation policies do you want to be discussed during the #DemDebate?
Update: we did get a mention of #EndangeredSpecies during the #DemDebate when @JohnDelaney said that we give wealthy people similar protections.
