"Mass killings" per the DOJ is the death of four people in the same incident, and the death of 3 people per a Congressional standard. As such, the math below by @voxdotcom is off.

Regardless, 112,000 people were murdered since Sandy Hook!

That's 17,000+ a year!

46 a day!
Per a @voxdotcom analysis, as many as 2,476 peoppe were killed in mass shootings in the 6 years and 7 full months since Sandy Hook through today's Dayton, OH shooting. That's about a person a day.

In this same period, at least 46 people were murdered per day in the US!
2,476 people were killed in mass shootings in the 6 years & 7 full months since Sandy Hook per @voxdotcom.

In 2017 alone, 3,160 people were murdered in the US by tactics other than firearms.

Focus exclusivity on guns for political gain or... get a handle on violence overall.
"Universal background checks" would not stop most mass shootings and mass shootings cause about 2% of all homicides in the US. But when the moto is #DoSomethingNow, then an act which won't change +99.5% of homicides is good enough for Media-driven zombies.
Hi @brianstelter. 2019 through yesterday/Sunday had 216 days and your mass shooting count is 101 deaths.

Context: Chicago this year is at 293 deaths.

More Context: At least 46 people are murdered daily in the US.

46 X 216 = 9,936 killings.
More people have been murdered this week in the US by objects other than guns than the amount of people who were killed in the two mass shootings. I don't know what is the right policy prescription on everything, but have this data in mind when you come up with your policies.
Mass shootings took the lives of a combined 2,476 in the six years & seven months since Sandy Hook according to @voxdotcom.

Context: In FY2017 and FY2018, @ICEgov removed a combined 3,172 illegal immigrants with homicide convictions, and another 810 with homicide charges.
In January, @RepMcClintock said that "In 2017, illegal aliens murdered 1,800 Americans." @PolitiFact ruled it is false. Why? Because McClintock pointed to the above ICE data but @AlexNowrasteh of CATO said that the number only shows the number of such removals in 2017
and the numbers do not show that the murders took place in one year. Said @AlexNowrasteh: "1,800 murders by illegal immigrants is insanely and outrageously high. Illegal immigrants, about 3.75% of the population, did not commit 10.4% of murders in the U.S.," in 2017.
But here is the issue: 1,800 removals in 2017 were not a one-off thing. Last year, 2,028 immigrants with murder charges or convictions were removed. I doubt that those two years are one-two offs, and that other years have much less or no such removals. As such, it turns out
based on ICE data that about 10% of homicides in the US were committed by those who are here illegally. As such, @PolitiFact may want to update and correct their false ruling on @RepMcClintock and @CatoInstitute via @AlexNowrasteh may want to stop their flawed spin that
illegal immigrants commit crime at a lower rate than Americans. ICE data on homicides show the opposite! I am not saying a person here illegally is by default more likely to comit a crime. There are many factors at play such as how the person came (say with the help of gangs);
from which country; the family situation and education attainment. However, @ICEgov data suggest that about 10% of US murders are in fact committed by those who are here illegally, so @CatoInstitute should please stop taking the US on a ride with agenda-driven skewed data.
The category is Enforcement & Removal Operarions (ERO) which counts people who R either arrested by ICE or removed. In a mere two years, ICE areested 3,172 people with murdsr convictions! That's a rate of 4.3 murders a day! Mass shootings deaths since Sandy Hook averages 1 a day.
Guns and immigration are two topics whose conversation is manipulated by brazenly false data pushed by agenda-driven liars as seen above.

See the thread below regarding the claim that 43% of Fortune 500 companies were founded by immigrants/chidlren:

"Good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun," has flaws in it.

One, why does the bad guy have the gun? That exactly is the problem!

Secondly, good guys with guns are not always around.

Third, they were around within a half minute in Dayton, yet 9 were still killed.
