I’ve been saying this for years.

There are a lot of right-wing influencers who spend all day peddling Russian disinformation. We can argue about whether they do it wittingly or unwittingly, but there’s no argument that it happens.

“Russian state broadcaster RT and its employees, including the charged defendants, co-opted online commentators by funneling them nearly $10 million to pump pro-Russia propaganda and disinformation across social media to U.S. audiences.”
As part of this $10 million dollar payout scheme, two Russian operatives, using fake identities, urged right-wing commentators to:

- Blame Ukraine for the Russian invasion
- Spread lies about the “risk of job loss for white Americans”
- lie about benefits to immigrants

FWIW, CNN just said that even a flawless press conference won’t save him. One debate condemns him, though? 🙄

🧵 Let’s talk Israel.

There have been several important developments related to Israel in the last 24 hours.

Biden and Netanyahu spoke for the first time in a long time, and all accounts of the conversation suggest it was tense.
Biden gave Bibi an ultimatum:

Protect civilians, or else.

He told Netanyahu that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is unacceptable, and that future aid was conditioned on the US seeing an immediate — and marked — improvement. Image
Within hours, Israel announced the opening of the Erez border crossing for the first time since October 7. They also announced the Ashdod port would be used for humanitarian aid, and that increased Jordanian aid would flow through Kerem Shalom, a crossing in southern Israel.

Just because you had your head in the sand for the entire Trump presidency doesn’t mean there was “peace everywhere”

Kids were getting gassed in Syria.

There were 2,243 drone strikes in the first two years of Trump.

There was a failed coup in Venezuela.
Trump’s policy of deterrence by tweet allowed North Korea to fully develop ICBMs.

He pulled out of the Iran nuclear deal. Now, Iran could enrich enough uranium for multiple nukes in as little as 2 weeks.

Trump pulled out of the INF and Open Skies.

He didn’t extend New START.
Trump escalated the Saudi-led war in Yemen with the Houthis — which we are seeing the results of now.

Trump assassinated the head of the IRGC (which, to be fair, was a good move)

Trump almost tweeted us into nuclear war with North Korea. Twice.

It’s accurate, nuanced, articulate, and — most importantly — actually includes a plan.

It’s possible to be pro-Israel and still want what’s best for the Palestinian people.

It’s possible to be pro-Palestinian and still want what’s best for the Israeli people.

If you think October 7 was a legitimate act of resistance, get a psychiatric evaluation.
If you think Israel has the right to indiscriminately bomb Gaza because of October 7, get a psychiatric evaluation.

Civilian casualties should be avoided at all costs.

Civilian casualties are part of the Hamas war plan.

Israel isn’t doing enough to prevent civilian casualties.
In order for a two state solution to be viable, both Hamas and Netanyahu have to go.

Israel should cede the West Bank to the Palestinian people as a show of goodwill — nothing good comes from the settlements.

Over 1.3 MILLION Palestinians live in Israel.
