You don’t “find” yourself.
People looking for ready made identities will never find the authenticity they’re looking for
They never accept they could be their own author, they want someone else to tell them what they are and should be
By default, these people are followers.
Some people never accept this. They adopt pieces of other people’s stories
If you question them, they react poorly. You’re questioning the mask they wear
To lose the mask would be terrifying, there’s nothing behind it
We Perform for the feed
We assess identities by these inputs that we perceive.
We like to think that IS who the person truly is
But it’s not
They’re cognizant of the performance. They know it’s artificial
The more “real” you are, the less you can be reduced and categorized
You cannot lose your depth on social media IF you are authentic in your Being
Their actual life may be a desert, the Feed is where they Can be something
They are the easiest to categorize, there is so little to them
They live for the performance
For a young person, they can easily become captured by this
It IS real life
-this is the big break between generations
The digital has become Real. It’s no longer an escape, it’s what you escape from
