Alright y'all, with court done for the day it's time for our next Philanthrophy Not-Quite-Friday!

This one's a little different than our typical events though

We need to fill these -10- bins with school supplies 😱
Before we get into the details though, some quick background

Since December 2015, we've been doing occasional fundraisers for local charitable initiatives here in Durham
With your help, we've raised over $34K since we started – in part by me offering up my own bank account at the rate of $5/donor to convince y'all to contribute

Every now and again we switch it up though, in those spots where you see "# boxes" in Column C
Because our schools are perpetually short on supplies, and we try to help teachers out so they don't have to buy them out of their own pockets

We do that by supporting @C2CDurhamNC and their "Fill That Bus!" school supply drive 😬
"Crayons2Calculators" is what you'd call their "trade name" -- basically the fancy way of identifying the The Durham Teacher Warehouse Corp

As you can guess from the name and the picture, it's a 501(c)(3) that runs a warehouse where teachers can get classroom supplies for free
If you've ever seen the school-specific shopping lists at Walmart or Target, it's basically the same concept but down to a super-granular level because it's the teacher picking out the supplies they need
The main supply drive C2C does each year is called "Fill That Bus!" where they try to load an entire schoolbus with supplies, with help from partners throughout the community

Here's a pic from a few years ago:
So we did this back in 2016, and filled 1 bin plus a cardboard box we found when things overflowed a bit

We tried it again in 2018, and ended up with a *lot* more than expected

So when they called me a couple weeks ago, I figured we'd try 10 boxes as a stretch goal 😂

Here's the C2C "priority list" on what they need most:

> Clip Boards
> Construction Paper
> Dry Erasers
> Hand Sanitizer
> Markers (Colored & Dry Erase)
> Pencils (Colored & Mechanical & No. 2)
> Scissors (kid & adult)
> Sharpies
> Tape (all kinds)
> Tissues
If you're local to the Durham area, you can drop off supplies at my office:

Law Offices of T Greg Doucette
311 E Main Street
Durham NC 27701-3717
We even had someone drop off a donation this morning already! 😆
(The push pin on that map pic two tweets up is our parking lot, which for some reason is always harder to find than the actual building)
If you're *not* local to the Durham area, you can also hop on Amazon / Walmart / Target or wherever else you shop for school supplies and mail them to us

That address one more time is:

Law Offices of T Greg Doucette
311 E Main Street
Durham NC 27701-3717
And if you're not the supply-donating time but you happen to be awash with excess cash, @C2CDurhamNC takes financial contributions through their website:

crayons2calculators.org/financial-dona…
We're collecting supplies a smidge longer than the "official" drive, because we have a 10-bin target 😄

Any donated supplies need to arrive by next Wednesday, 08/21/19!
Please send some school supplies our way, and tell your friends! 😬
I actually got that very question from @jdyubergeek – let me see if I can find the dimensions I sent him

Each bin is 20"x14"x12" at the top, slightly smaller at the base

@CVFutrell
EDUCATION IS FOR SOY CUCK BETAS MR. DOPEHAT, ALL THINGS CAN BE LEARNED ON YOUTUBE

Good luck with that 😂 All the major players on the defense side were kind enough to donate to the charity drive we did last month, and zero ISWV folks. I have no aspirations that Team Brainworms will do anything charitable here either

Thank you sir! 👊

Important point for Amazon connoisseurs:

Probably 😂 No school kids involved in this project though

So @rahaeli has been kind enough to set up an Amazon Wishlist, for those who prefer one-click shipping to my office 😊

Nah I'll allow it, it's gonna take time for me to unbox and pack the bins (hence why we're not gonna make the 8/17 deadline)

Thank you sir!

Huh. Well maybe we'll all be surprised 😂

I am slightly terrified 🤣🤣🤣

*THANK YOU*!

Thank you Counselor! The tissues are always a big hit lol

No need to be bummed, there will always be more! 😆

There's always room for more, thank you sir! 👊

Me: ::coming back from court::

Receptionist: "Hey Greg? Everything in the conference room is yours."

👴🏼: (accustomed to packages being stacked outside my door b/c there are rarely that many of them) "Wut?"

👩🏽: "The conference room? Boxes?"

👴🏼: ::looks::

👴🏼: "Fuuuuuuuu..."
There's a consult going on at the moment, will take a pic in a minute

But y'all are crazy people and I adore you
So keep in mind we just announced this yesterday morning

Less than 24 hours later, safe to say we've got at least 1 box filled

(There are boxes hidden behind the boxes, plus the standalone stuff on the table)
Pretty much every event we've done has been on an upward trajectory YoY 😯
