It's been 24 hours since this beautiful, amazing project took flight at Keyworth. I'm still at a loss for words for how proud I am of our hard work, but I'm going to try my best to get it out. /thread #DCTID

First, I am so glad that I can finally get some sleep without tossing and turning and worrying about whether this thing is going to fly away. It went up without a hitch and looked amazing. The pictures are simply breathtaking. Thank you to everyone on the deployment crew.

Between this, the playoff tifo and the NPSL opener, more than 100 of you helped in some way, be it tracing, painting, deployment or some other task. I tried, and will continue to try to personally thank each of you, but if I miss you, please know how much your work is appreciated

Soccer season is a hectic time for everyone, so for you all to give up additional time in support of this club to make this happen means everything to me, and I can tell you for sure, it means a lot to the club for whom we do all this.

The players, coaches and staff of @DetroitCityFC love us and work really hard to give us a club to be proud of. They've said many times that displays like this means a lot because it shows how much we love them back.

People have sometimes asked why we don't do large displays that are more focused on the supporters or our opponents. The answer is that we do this to show love for our club. It's not about us, or anyone else, it's about City. It's always about City.

We did all of this, nearly 2,300 sq. ft of hand-painted banners, in a workshop in Hamtramck affectionately called Disharmony House. It was cozy, but perfect (and close to a party store). We owe a huge thank you to Andrew and Ian from Trixie's Bar for allowing us to use the space.

In addition to all of you, this project, like every tifo we've done this year, could have never happened without @akareynolds, @Serndpety, @burgerMarioNGS and Chris (who does a hell of a lot of work for someone who loves holding a chair down so much).

. @akareynolds planned all of the infrastructure that made this thing work, stopped it from flying away, and kept all of the supporters safe. She's the Countess of #tifomath and was a shoulder to lean on when I needed it. She kept the tifo, and all of us, grounded.

. @Serndpety is a master artist, and the reason we had a space to work in. On the canvas, she created the right colors when we didn't have what we needed, and fixed my mistakes when I painted outside the lines. She is a huge reason why this thing came to life.

Chris X (who is older than me and does not internet) would likely tell you that he just held down a chair while we worked, but when we needed something built or someone to brave heights, he was always there. @akareynolds please let him know I said nice thing about him on the webs

And of course this would have never happened in the first place if it weren't for the amazing design work of @burgerMarioNGS, who brought a rough sketch that we came up with in a bar, to life. He put up with our inartistic suggestions with grace. I'm still in awe of his art.

Projects like this are 100% collaboration, and without these folks, and the literally hundred or more of our fellow @NGSDetroit supporters like you, we couldn't make this happen. I honestly can't express how thankful I am for each and every one of you.

Each of you who helped, whether it was every weekend, or just once or twice, own a piece of this and should be really proud of your work. It's people like you who make this SG, and this club, so special.

So thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart for all that you did, and all that you continue to do, to help create the kind of atmosphere that is the envy of supporters and soccer clubs everywhere, and the pride of Detroit. You are simply the best #DCTID
