HOW THE WEST JUSTIFIES ITS AGGRESSION

On the basis of knowing your enemy, i.e. the entity seeking to undermine you in every possible way, we would like to explore the West’s justification for regime change & why this is unlikely to ever change.

What are the prevailing memes?
The group thought in the West runs like this:

1. Democracy is the only system guaranteeing citizens have jurisdiction over the laws & policies of their nation.

Whether this actually works in practice is another question entirely. How much influence do voters have?

#LobbyGroups
2. In western liberal democracies the right of freedom of speech is guaranteed.

When six corporations run the vast majority of US mass media your freedom to speak can seem a weak thing indeed.

What about whistleblowers? No freedom of speech there?
3. In the West you have the right to join any legally recognized group & assemble freely to protest your cause.

You may have seen the images of 'Occupy’ protestors being pepper-sprayed & many other instances of repression.

How far does this right extend in reality?
4. Russia does not have democracy, freedom of speech or assembly therefore is fair game.

Russia does have elections at all levels including for the presidency.

There is no law against freedom of speech or assembly. As in the West protests need to be legally organized.
5. China does not have democracy therefore it is right & proper that the West should undermine it.

China does not have a democratic system as in the West it is true. It does have three political parties in addition to the Communist Party however who have input regarding policy.
6. The West allows almost total freedom under the law. Individual freedoms are sacrosanct.

This is true to a large extent. But to what degree does this account for the gun crime, drug abuse & other ugly realities within its system that impinge heavily upon western populations?
7. It is the duty of the West to intervene in nations not adhering to western standards with a view to correcting them.

What of int. law regarding the sovereignty of nations?

What of UN rules regarding aggression by one state toward another when none has been shown toward it?
8. Nations other than those within the West or its orbit of allies are seeking to attack them.

This, as most discerning observers can readily see, is a lie.

Most nations outside the western sphere have enough to contend with within their own boundaries without seeking enemies.
9. The West has a position of authority which has responsibly maintains patrician control over an unruly world.

This is a view strictly in the eye of the beholder. How responsible were the attacks upon Iraq & Libya? Is the world safer or more dangerous thru recent interventions?
10. The West is simply the best & provides a model all nations should follow & be coerced to by all means possible if they don’t.

Int. law forbids this interventionist approach especially regarding violent aggression.

What of Saudi Arabia & those like it. Convenient exceptions?
