You only need 3-5 friends to be happy.

And family members can be friends too.

But expand your acquaintances.

Have acquaintances from all walks of life.

Chances are you know many of the people your friends know.

But with acquaintances, you can enter a brand new network.
'That seems a little low, no?'

Nope.

Less friends & more acquaintances is how you supercharge your social life.

Here's why 👇
Here's the traditional Social Filtration System:

1. Stranger
2. Acquaintance
3. Friend

Your goal is to slowly progress people from level 1 -> 3.
A big mistake people make is calling everyone a friend.

'Why is it a mistake?'

Because you risk letting low lives into your immediate squad.

You gotta be smarter than that.
In order to build a friend, you need to invest a lot of time, energy & attention into a human.

All are finite resources, so you need to be wise.

'Can't I spend those resources on 50 people?'

You can.

But you'd only develop surface level bonds.
If you spend it on 5 people instead you can develop deep bonds.

This allows you to form a quality friend group who are loyal & have your back.

You'll see this group in many phases of your life.
'That makes sense bro. So why do you say have a big acquaintance circle?'

Because acquaintances don't need as much time, energy & attention.

Hitting them up a few times a month will do the trick.
Having a robust acquaintance circle builds the power of your network.

You should know:

Lawyers, plumbers, businessmen, public speaking coaches, ecom experts etc.

You never know when you'll need em
But these people should also know you.

And they'll know you if you position yourself as a valuable, reliable person.

This is why when you go to events, you shouldn't be hanging with the same people all the time.

Expand your acquaintances
The socially intelligent person never cliques up when going to a new event.

Rather, they are actively looking to build their network.

I can't stress how important acquaintances are.
'What makes em so important?'

Well, I'm guessing you & your friends know a lot of the same people.

But when meeting an acquaintance, you have the potential to enter a brand new network.
Your influence grows.

And your name begins to expand into new nodes

Very powerful way to play the social game
So a recap:

3-5 close ass friends who support you, are loyal & you keep in touch with in many stages of life.

And a large robust acquaintances full of winners who you occasionally keep in touch with.

Trick To Creativity [THREAD]

The trick to creativity is speed & reduction of time. I realized this trick when I first began doing Toastmasters Table Topics.

Thought it was crazy to be given a random topic, plan out the speech & deliver it on the spot. Image
I thought it was impossible.

However, some of the greatest speeches I heard in Toastmasters were from Table Topics. They were even better than a lot of the planned speeches.

Less time allows you to write more with the subconscious mind.
Reduction in time & speed are earned though. Need to put in your reps. Or you need to have a spotlight put over you where you have no choice but to execute. Sort of like in Toastmasters when a crowd is waiting to hear your words.

Planning too much stifles the flow.

If the mind doesn't have problems to solve, it creates problems to dwell on
When you run away from problems, problems find you.

And not the good kind.

'There are good kinds of problems?'

Absolutely...

It may be because you're not doing enough.
