Thread!
I have been defending the Nigerian High Commission in the UK after my daughters testimony last year when they applied for, recieved their first Nigerian passport, however things have gone downhill. Touts operate from a McDonald's collecting £100 to for appointments dates.
Multiple applicants have testified how they apply on line but get 3 months waiting period, but if you contact embassy insiders, you are able to get early days, the days bookmarked and released after paying £100 bribe. The meeting point is McDonald's on Strand. It's an open market
Officials of the Nigerian High Commission should further tighten it's booking mechanism, touts will only operate when they see a loophole in the system. In the absence of scarcity no tout would be able to operate. Regular checks should be made on the website to prevent fraud.

@officialABAT is a free market President. Naira isn't going to get the Buhari days protection.
Most urgent palliative is radical cut in government waste, jum bo salaries and investing on health, education, security etc.
Number of Ministers should reduce, lawmakers should half thier salaries as a sacrifice to Nigerias current reality.
State Governors should also cut the waste accross board, citizens should follow suit.
We need to start investing in our rural farming communities immediately.
No more lau lau, urgent review of the civil service size accross all tiers of government, increase the minimum wage, cut international travels by government officials. Disband those agencies of government that are duplicate waste of space across all tiers of government.
🧵 Watched a 2min 45 seconds interview @GRVlagos had with @ARISEtv, this prompted my checking his other interviews,
As I don't have a horse in this race and expect attacks from both sides. Here are my comments having scanned @GRVlagos interviews, his CV and his own comments on SM
The Lagos Governorship election was supposed to be a direct race between @jidesanwoolu of @OfficialAPCNg and a certain Jandour o @OfficialPDPNig whose choice of talented Nollywood star @funkeakindele as running mate turned his campaign into an episode of Oluwalambe Lodge. A joke!
Against Jandour, @jidesanwoolu was meant to have an easy win, oh well that was before the Hurricane Peter Obi swept Lagos off the command and control of Sanwoolu's political godfather, now President Elect @officialABAT
BAT's defeat opened up Lagos as a fair game for LP & Gbadebo
When everybody don calm down. You will get it.
The geo political structure of Nigeria makes it impossible for your Imams or Pastors alone to make you President.
"Youth" isn't just a urban southern Nigeria demography.
You need trans regional alliances.
You can't curse into power
GMB learnt that bitter lesson. I was in that hall in Abuja in our good old CPC day's when he wept. I was amongst the idealist who opposed a merger with ACN and wanted a puritan CPC victory. GMB only became PMB after a merger. The rest his history. Convergence of Idealism/Realism
Nigeria's political structure is very complex, our ethno religious diversity is a curse and a blessing, it can be a force for good and a force for evil. Every election has elements of desire for good governance but also primordial nuances. Serious movements must factor this in.
Make all of una go siddon, no one Man made Buhari President. It was a collective effort of multiple coalitions with Tinubu being a major part of that and the then political environment making it possible for Buhari to get the vote of people who will not ordinarily vote for him.
Whilst Tinubu's contribution can't be minimised, the same goes with the contributions of other members of that coalition and NONE told us the reward was for Buhari to hand over Nigeria to them. Atiku in 2023 will be contesting under the same conditions that made Buhari President
No one Man is "Awade in Yorubaland". Tinubu rightly had preferred candidates and has influenced the emergence of Lagos Governors since he left public office, why does he think Buhari shouldn't have his own preferred candidate in the National election?
Don't come after me, or come if you want, your Aspirants know the truth. Thankfully I don't have a bone in the fight for who becomes President of Nigeria in 2023. I will be recuperating from PSBTD. (Post Support for Buhari Traumatic Disorder).
Short thread on @atiku's chances. 👇🏿
@atiku will win the Presidency in 2023 if @officialABAT, @ProfOsinbajo, @ChibuikeAmaechi, @kfayemi, and the Southern Aspirants do not come together, unite and present one candidate they can unite around, even that right now is a tight option.
Neither Tinubu nor Osibajo can win if they produce a Candidate from a rancorous primary, and APC does not have a Northern aspirant capable of presenting him/herself as being starkly different from Atiku Abubakar so they can’t even present a Northern candidate from the Aspirants.
🇳🇬 Just before the lights are turned off!
The primary responsibility of the government is to protect its citizens, failing to do that, every other achievement can be wiped out by just 2 days of war. Clearly, from the North to the South the State has lost it's monopoly of violence
and a clear strategy on how to retain control on behalf of the citizens.
None State actors can not bring stability. They can dilliver blood, the temporary feeling of victory in revenge and counter revenge until the last person standing falls.
It is ONLY the State that should restore its authority by gaining the confidence of the citizens in a war situation. Be consistent in reactions to all the conflicts without any hesitations and resort less on knee jack responses.
