Well, well, well....it seems the man who plays cricket for Kent women's team still plays for a men's team, Chesham second XI.
So at men's level he can't get higher than the second team playing in the Thames Valley League, but in women's cricket he is out playing everyone else at county level and is being touted as a possible for the national side.
Let's compare stats for this season so far:
Chesham Second XI men's team:
8 matches, 79 runs in total, highest score 44, average 13.16
Kent women's county cricket team:
8 matches, 629 runs in total, highest score 152*, average 104.83
@ECB_cricket Tell me again how this is fair!
So having been asked by @robjessel if Maxine was a bowler because his batting stats are so bad. I did some digging & no, he is not a bowler (see below for Chesham second XI bowling stats).
So a man who ranks 15th in a second XI team in a local league goes on to be opening batsman at county level in the women’s game.
Tell me again how male puberty makes no difference!
Thanks to @Grandmacares3 for pointing out that Maxine is listed in both the men's second XI squad and the women's squad for this season
As a result I did some more digging....Maxine may be listed as part of the female squad but a quick look through the season's stats and he obviously has not played one game for the women's team this season
I also checked for bowling figures for Second XI and Maxine is not a bowler, as some have suggested he may be because of the batting stats...he is not a regular bowler having only bowled 7 overs and not a great run rate.
So, Maxine is a less than average batsman and bowler when it comes to playing on the second team in a third tier league club, but is the superstar batsman at county level for a women's team...
