@morganknutson Just found the story of career at G. As a user, and an early adopter, it saw G+ as a central hub for the various elements of G. I also KNEW the horribly named Hangout were the 800lb gorilla that were an immense powerhouse. After +dariamusk and +Ram more or less
Forced G+ to adapt to a quality audio experience with their worldwide marathon concerts, Studio mode and HOA's be came common. It was a paradise. People adapted that were serious about their work and spreading their message in a community they could grow organically.
Plus the advantage of worldwide breaking news with jerry rigged broadcast kits from the Syrian/Turkey border. Perhaps the Toronto Police deptments broadcast in realtime elements of police action. A department in Britian began to do the same. A few politicians stuck their
Little toe in the water.
My point being that anyone could reach out to the world and engage in real relationships. HOA's weren't easy. Never adapted to start from mobile.
Yet the other elements allowed for deep research such as Google Scholar and many more. At one point one of
Our crew counted 134 Google elements.
I envisioned the G+ platform as the base to unify all of them and make them easily accessible.
I didn't foresee the constant redesigns and changes. Most of us felt as if Google was was using the entire plpulation as the beta group.
But most of us hung in, fighting the 'G+ is a desert' narrative.
I was there from nearly the beginning to the last day. I had become truly Google centric.
When it vanished so did my entire platform.
Never again will I build a business or identity on someone else's platform.
As you can see I was heavily involved with Twitter fighting and building political campaigns and movements.
I've been forced back to FB, (gagging sounds) as.most migrated there. We tried MeWe (how the hell do they come up with these names? Your North Star was a least
understandable and had a purpose. MeWe?)
I honestly went through a mourning period. Silly? Perhaps but I had invested a lot with the Team Hangouts and building a G+Network of independent blogs that would carry live the my own HOA's. And I helped create others.
I can see
From your saga I can see where it went off-track and inevitably crashed. Most of us were apprensive after Vic bailed out.
I wanted you to see what a user saw in the growth, the international relationships building , via HOA's, and trust we had in a firm
platform, however misplaced.
G+ wasn't the marketeers meat market like FB. We could have long intelligent discussions if you had the right contacts and relationships.
FB is a place to never trust in anyway. I thought we could trust Google.
This is the WORST time to put anything about the 25th Amendment from Dems leadership in Congress or public discussion. Actively doing ANYTHING publically about the 25th gives Trump the largest possible grievance and phoney target. It would energize discouraged supporters. It also
agitates the RW militia groups around the nation plus individual/small group extremist/white supremists active in the US.
Remember he will still be President through January 20th at noon. Even if removed by 25th action it does not take away his bully pulpit.
The VERY most
dangerous Trump is the loser between the election and January 20, 2021.
If he is removed by 25th Amendment he has a huge drum to beat far after January 21, 2021.
These are violent groups needing a rallying leader.
Don't give him the springboard of any public 25th action
