Some news: the White House has been briefed on a proposal to develop a way to identify early signs of changes in people w mental illness that could lead to violent behavior. The proposal is part a larger initiative to establish a new agency called HARPA > washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/…
The proposal is being pushed by Trump’s long time friend Bob Wright & is modeled after DARPA. It’s been received “positively” by Trump but hit bureaucratic snags over the past two years...
The use of volunteer data to identify “neurobehavioral signs" of “someone headed toward a violent explosive act” would be a 4-year project within HARPA costing ~ $40 -$60M, per Dr. Geoffrey Ling, the lead scientific adviser on HARPA & founding director of DARPA’s Bio Tech Office.

Friday night news dump on Pacer... Jan. 6 committee has so far filed a motion to file an "oversized memo" in the Meadows suit to block a subpoena from the Jan. 6 committee...
Here we go: In a motion for summary judgment in the lawsuit filed by Mark Meadows, the Select Committee is now requesting that Meadows appear before the committee to give deposition testimony and provide documents regarding "seven discrete topics"....
🚨 One of the topics includes: Testimony and documents relating to activity in the White House immediately and cites new testimony from Cassidy Hutchinson, Meadows's legislative advisor:
Scoop: the Biden admin has approved the sale of $735 million in precision-guided weapons to Israel, raising red flags for some House Dems more open to questioning DC’s support of Netanyahu, suggesting the sale be used as leverage. W/ @karoun: washingtonpost.com/politics/2021/…
Some HFAC lawmakers were caught off guard over the weekend when they first learned of the sale.
“We're lucky to catch this weapons sale,” a Dem aide who works on the committee told us. “There's zero transparency on HFAC & sensitive deals are regularly approved without scrutiny.”
New details: the Biden admin's arms sale to Israel also includes GBU-39 small diameter bombs, which are also used against Palestinians. & @HouseForeign just called an emergency meeting to discuss the sale & conflict more broadly. W/ @John_Hudson@karounwashingtonpost.com/world/2021/05/…
I think Americans care — especially during a pandemic — about the abuse and misuse of taxpayer dollars that are meant to support the governing function of the US, and not any political candidate or political cause. I think Americans care about Democracy....
And that their hard earned resources aren’t then being used by political actors to enhance their own re-election efforts. Trump has made clear that he does not see a line between the government, political campaigns and his private businesses.
I think if we, as the media, did a better job of communicating the fact that during a time when so many are dying, out of work & cant even put food on the table, that their tax dollars are going to Trump’s re-election efforts — and not a much needed additional stimulus package...
And notably: in November 2018, @AMarch4OurLives sent a letter to AG Underwood regarding potentially illegal activity by @NRA -- "behind the scenes, and thanks to the donations from our supporters, we were looking into the NRA’s finances."
Also notable: how effective the activism of @AMarch4OurLives has been in the short time since the group's inception in the aftermath of the murder of 17 students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas. A handful of Gen Z'ers who have created 300+ chapters of activists around the country.
Big Sanders, Buttigieg and Warren contingencies in this swingy soccer mom suburb.
The secretary of the caucus at this precinct just swung from Warren to Biden to make him viable because he says he felt bad that his second choice hadn’t yet hit the threshold!
Okay. First round preference is done!
