Soon, the Canadian people are going to have a choice to make about what kind of person they want to lead our great country.
A leader is someone who shows up when it counts & lifts up those around them. Andrew Scheer is not that leader. thestar.com/news/canada/20…
Let us not forget why we march in pride parades. Let us not forget that we are fortunate to have a Prime Minister who crisscrosses the country year after year to walk along side our LGBTQ2+ friends –– the first sitting Prime Minister to do so, ever.
And let us not forget that his immediate competitor, the man running to be his successor, refuses to attend any pride parade, opposes trans rights, says he'd have to “wait and see” before supporting measures to ban conversion therapy, and fought same sex marriage.
Andrew Scheer was elected leader of his party by an invigorated base of social conservatives who are betting on him to carry out their agenda.
So no, he won't show up to this weekend's pride parade in Ottawa. And if he becomes PM, he won't show up for LGBTQ2+ people at all.
