The Election Assistance Commission does NOT conduct penetration testing of voting systems; it tests only for functionality. Vendors, corrupt officials, & others use EAC certification to trick voters into thinking hackable voting systems are secure. nytimes.com/2018/09/26/mag… 1/
/ The EAC was established by the Help America Vote Act of 2002, which was itself fruit of the poison tree. HAVA's chief sponsor, Bob Ney, went to prison for accepting bribes from Jack Abramoff, a lobbyist for Diebold, which made paperless voting machines.
/ Diebold's largest shareholder and senior programmer was Jeffrey Dean, a convicted embezzler whose crimes involved sophisticated computer tampering.
/ We cannot afford to allow these games to continue. Pls DM “SAFE” to @resistbot (or text “SAFE” to Resist.bot) to demand that your Senators pressure @senatemajldr to bring the #SAFEAct election-security bill to a vote. TY. #ProtectOurVotes #HandMarkedPaperBallots
/ Please also contact @OversightDems to demand that they subpoena the voting machine vendors to disclose their ownership and where they installed remote access software and wireless modems. Thank you.
