The #UAE diplomacy with #NewDelhi is a step forward in helping end #India-#Iran strategic partnership. If successful, this will help #Pakistan interests that suffered due to Indian-Iranian partnership in #Afghanistan & #Balochistan. /1

@AQpk
The #UAE is likely hoping to permanently end #India's reliance on #Iran oil imports, and shift its oil contracts to Arab Gulf suppliers. #AbuDhabi is likely also interested in seeing India end its role in #Chabahar port, which has also created problems for #Pakistan and #China.
While helping #Pakistan economically & diplomatically (quiet diplomacy to bring the #US & #Islamabad closer), the #UAE has walked a fine balance to court #India in the hope of encouraging an #Indian shift away from #Iran.
Two years ago, #India declined #UAE request to allow its paratroopers perform over the skies of #NewDelhi during Indian republic day due to close military ties between #AbuDhabi and #Pakistan.
The #UAE had overruled objections by #India and pushed ahead with development projects in Azad (Free) #Kashmir.
There are plausible signs that the daring attack on a five-star hotel in #Gwadar and the attacks on oil tankers off #Fujairah #UAE, on opposite sides of Arabian Sea in May, were linked:

#Pakistan has an important stake in protecting the freedom of navigation through the Straits of #Hormuz, which carries the bulk of Pak energy supplies. #India is flirting with the idea of playing a role in #Gulf security. Interestingly, #Indian & #Chinese researchers have..
...considered Gulf navigation security as an area of possible India-China cooperation during a conference organized by @EmiratesPolicy in Nov. 2018. @AQpk
Increasing clout of #UAE and also #KSA in #Indian energy policy and economy helped both play key mediatory backchannel roles after #Pulwama and #Balakot crises in Feb. 2019, which helped their ally #Pakistan.
Last point: excellent decision by Chairman Senate not to visit #AbuDhabi while #Modi is there. Emotional value. But I wish statement should've affirmed the close #PakUAE ties and rescheduled the visit. Our #Kashmir diplomacy is not about #India's bilateral ties with others..
...It's about using other countries bilateral ties with #India to force #NewDelhi to treat #Kashmir well and resolve this international conflict peacefully according to #Kashmiri will and #UNSC resolutions. @AQpk
#Modi's visit to #France #UAE #Bahrain has no impact on our #Kashmir diplomacy and emotional overreactions in #Pakistan are unnecessary and immature:
- UAE: Supported Pak in #AJK development despite #Indian objection, in #Balakot crisis, on improving ties with #Trump/#US & at..
...#UN/#OIC. #France pressured #India at #UNSC & in #Paris to end curfew in #Kashmir. Award to #Modi is not linked to Kashmir, and we should use these visit to lobby states hosting Modi to apply pressure for peaceful Kashmir resolution.
We in #Pakistan should not turn #Kashmir into damage relations with other countries by taking individual issues out of context, esp states that are supporting us. @AQpk
#UAE on #Pakistan’s side on #Kashmir issue: FM Qureshi

Khanewal, Aug 25 (DNA): Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said on Sunday UAE is a dear friend of Pakistan & fully supports Pakistan on Kashmir. He said this at his interaction with South Punjab PTI workers. #PakUAE
