Back in 2013, when details first started circulating about the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy, I was beyond hyped. I was eager to see our heroes from the OT back together again. I was especially hyped to see Luke Skywalker as a Jedi Master. I supported Star Wars being bought by Disney.
I was beyond stoked to see the continuation of the saga post-ROTJ. The teaser trailer dropped for TFA in late 2014. I was left speechless. We get the second teaser trailer in early 2015. Seeing Darth Vader’s mask and Han Solo and Chewie had me completely excited.
Then fast-forward to October of that year where we see the official trailer. Again, I was in complete awe. Went opening night to see TFA, where I was absolutely in love with the movie. Though Luke’s appearance was brief, it left me eagerly awaiting the sequel.
I saw the movie again a week later and still enjoyed it a lot. However, after discussing it with friends and family, I soon realized how I only enjoyed TFA for the nostalgic factor it provided and ignored the criticisms held against the film. I defended the crap out of it.
I came to the realization that TFA was nothing but a carbon copy of ANH. Started to realize how TFA essentially hit the reset button on the previous 6 films and effectively undid everything from the OT. However, I still had hope that the sequel would address unresolved questions.
Rogue One was released and I immediately found it to be a quite fascinating film. Liked it a lot more than TFA. Felt it was going to be awesome to get spin-off films in between the main saga films. Was nice to watch a new Star Wars film in between the saga films.
Fast-forward to April 2017 where we get the teaser trailer for TLJ, which had me super hyped. Then the official trailer dropped in October and again I was beyond stoked. I watched TLJ on opening night and while I initially enjoyed the movie, I was ultimately confused.
I liked seeing Luke again, but I felt the whole movie was so hollow and soulless. However, I didn’t want to accept that the movie was terrible. I watched it again on Blu-Ray and found the issues with the film were more apparent. I then came to my senses and declared TLJ as awful.
I hated that it took me so long to realize how terrible TLJ really was and how it retroactively ruined every single Star Wars film. I was disgusted by how awful Luke was treated and how disrespectful the movie was with respect to the characters and lore. Then the excuses started.
I saw how RJ was labeling fans who didn’t like TLJ as “man-babies” and JJ claiming the male fans are intimidated by women. Plus Lucasfilm employees had the nerve to label fans as racists, sexists and misogynists all for just not liking the movie. I had no desire to watch Solo.
Solo comes out and I couldn’t care less. Lucasfilm kept hurling insults at fans and refused to acknowledge the backlash against TLJ. I couldn’t support them. They kept throwing labels at the “haters” and that right there was the final nail for me. I couldn’t care less anymore.
It was around this time that I started to watch channels like Geeks and Gamers, John Talks, World Class Bullshitters, etc. and hearing them speak the truth about Lucasfilm. Thanks to channels like these, I would have never been exposed to the truth behind Lucasfilm.
Jumping ahead to April of this year, I felt no ounce of hype for The Rise of Skywalker. I felt it was a cheap gimmick to bring back Palpatine. Goes to show you how confident Lucasfilm feels about their new characters that are so poorly developed.
It’s funny how Lucasfilm is pushing the “let the past die” mantra so hard, yet when Galaxy’s Edge isn’t performing well, toys aren’t selling and Solo being a bomb, they resort to dredging up beloved OT characters. Just for the sake of making more money.
Also, the reason they fired Colin Trevorrow wasn’t because of “creative differences.” It was because he wanted Luke Skywalker to be front and center of Episode IX, who would overshadow MaRey Sue. Lucasfilm just keeps shooting themselves in the foot.
Lucasfilm has an agenda to push bullshit real-world social politics into their films instead of telling a respectful and organic story. Yet when fans speak up against them, they’re labeled as “toxic.” I won’t be surprise one bit if TROS doesn’t hit one billion at the box office.
Thanks to the #FandomMenace, you all have opened me up to realizing the truth about Star Wars under Disney’s control.

@DDayCobra You rock! Each and every single one of you in the FM just absolutely rock!
