Artisans may not really need formal education. Education via community meetups, conferences, competitions and hackathons sponsored by stakeholders in the industry can be super useful
Artisans were only taught how to use their skill to solve a problem. They were not taught how to run a business, manage clients, manage time, manage employees or manage orders.
They do not understand industry best practices. They don't have channels to express themselves
Artisans with good level of formal education tend to do better.
My tailor, a graduate, told me that he could not meet my deadline to deliver a cloth I needed urgently. I gave it to someone else who could.
That is discipline. Some devs learn this discipline from event speakers
If you build a product for artisans, build a community that will create resources for educating the artisans and allow them to participate actively, sharing resources, experiences and success stories.
It will motivate others to scale their skills beyond survival.
