Had a guy who told me I couldn’t build a creative agency back then, I was too young and inexperienced. He was working with one of the biggest agencies then. He nicknamed me “Agency”.

3yrs ago, his group CEO invited me to talk to the entire team at the retreat. He was there too
Don’t get angry when people don’t believe in you, there are chances if you were in their shoes, you wouldn’t believe in yourself too. Their reasons are valid.

Just Do, Build & Believe. Because that’s what real dreamers do.
Never fight anyone for not believing you. Their reasons are valid and I personally think we are not entitled to people’s beliefs. More importantly, you can still do business with them in their future. Just keep your own energy. That’s the 🔑
Sometimes when it looks like these people don’t believe in you, they are actually trying to save you from your self. They have good intentions.

The year was 2015. We had just announced our raise. A young lady who just finished secondary school saw it in the news and walked into the office. “I want to work here, ANYWORK.” They told her we were not hiring, but she insisted she would do anything.
It was a small office. (We had remodeled a garage) so I could hear from the inside. So I stepped out to the reception and started chatting with her. We went from what she knew about Printivo to books she reads. At that moment, I knew I had to give her a chance.
We hired her to shadow the then customer support person. I would personally take her off her stipends. Her ability to learn new and complex stuff quickly stood out. A year later, she was admitted to the university. She would return every holiday with her spot waiting.

The idea that Nigerian students go to foreign universities because of Nigeria’s poor economy/education is another case of half-truth. There are over 360,000 Chinese students in the US. People seek foreign education for many reasons, and they have the right to do so.
Countries with world-class education have more students in the US than Nigeria. If you scale the number to per capita, We are at the bottom. Nigerians don’t study abroad enough. We should fix our education, but it won't and can't deter people from seeking education elsewhere.
Nigerian is not even on UK’s top 10 international student list. India has one of the best STEM education in the world. They are no. 2 on almost every data, next to China (whose education system is also solid). We don’t have enough Nigerians studying abroad. There should be more.

I’ve never seen anyone driving backwards like the current administration. Putting a cap on business growth for Telcos (an industry that’s your cash cow) at a tap when unemployment rate is >30% all in the name of NIN. You wake up everyday and you are tired.
At ICM yesterday while withdrawing money from the Stanbic ATM outside, a young man approached me (well dressed) and asked if I could support with transport funds. He came for a job interview at the mall, in Ikeja, was hoping to go back with a friend but plans changed.
For some reasons I decided to engage him further. Apparently he was TELCO distributor in computer village, also running his own side business of SIM card registration etc. They were disengaged earlier this year because of NCC’s cap on new SIM cards.

Hello Ada, Let me tell you short story about talent and why I think it’s a great thing. Being tenacious and consistent beats talent any time any day...
In my first Uni year, we had a general course FAA 101 (Fine and Applied Arts), note, I was in Pure and Applied Maths. I was the second best student out of ~5,000. Dabana Mohammed was the best. Lecturers from FAA department called me and pleaded that I switched courses. I declined
FAA had ~50 students. We all knew after Dabana & BJ, everyone else knew nothing about art and were not talented. Some of them had Es & Ds in FAA 101. “What on earth are you doing in Fine and Applied Arts department if you’re scoring 41E in basic FAA 101?” But they stayed.

It’s sad that for all the money Nigeria made from since we discovered oil, we are unable to give 90m Nigerian $100 monthly till COVID19 passes away. In today’s money that’s N45,000. If the poor gets this. They will stay at home. 100 f*cking dollar!
The next time someone tries to tell you how rich Nigeria is... take three steps backward & give them waka. Don’t talk to people like that again. Poverty na bastard. Nigeria is not a rich country with greedy leaders. It’s a very poor country in the hands of vultures.
It’s not like we can see any infrastructure that we built with all that money. Third Mainland bridge was opened in 1990. 30 f*cking years ago and that’s like the only thing we take pride in. If you carry a Nigeria passport and you are not angry, you are likely part of the problem

There’s a new wave of #Naijaphobia, (yes we have a word like that now) and it will surprise everyone that even Nigerians with legit businesses and livelihood across Africa will become targets. This is why the government needs to act.

(A Thread)
There are 1.2b Africans and like I have said before, ~ 200m of these people are Nigerians. Which means for every 6 Africans you meet, 1 of them is a Nigerian. Sub-Saharan Africa has a population of ~1m, so if we narrow it down. 1 of every 5 black African is a Nigerian.
It also appears Nigerians travel more than the rest of Africa and tend to settle in places far from home more than the rest of Africa. There’s a saying “If you visit a city and you can’t find a Nigerian there, leave”. Nigerians are aggressive, adventurous & driven
