Things to delete from your CV this weekend:

State of origin
Local government area
Religion
Marital status
Gender or Sex

Take them out, except when applying for a state or FG job or when the company specifically requests for these information.
All you need on your CV is your name, email address, phone number and the URL link of your LinkedIn profile. Home address is optional!
Referees? Delete.
Reference on request? Optional.

I’ll just take them out completely. Because if you’re going to get the job and they want references they’ll ask anyway 🤷🏽‍♂️
For those saying gender is important, you see, a man can do the same job a woman can do, and a woman can do the same job a man can do. Your gender doesn’t really matter.

The point is for a lot of roles, it doesn’t really matter what gender you are! I hope this makes sense.
Delete your date of birth from your CV if not specifically requested by the recruiter or if not applying for a state or FG job. A 28 year old can do the same job a 36 year old can do and a 24 year old can do the same job a 38 year old can do.
The content of your CV, I mean, your years of experience, roles and responsibilities and perhaps the date of your graduation can give the recruiter an idea of your age.
Fresh graduates, do you want to know what else to include on your CV after deleting these unimportant information? Do you want samples? 500 RTs and I’ll drop deets..
I see over 600 folks are interested in knowing how to CRAFT AN OUTSTANDING CV when you lack work Experience. A short thread...
Your MAIN FOCUS should be on your SKILLS: Your transferable/employability skills should be strategically highlighted.
Before doing that, you need to review the Job description of the role you are applying for and tailor your skills to match the main skills, competencies and qualities the employer is looking for.
Present Relatable Examples:

Once you have listed your skills, you need to briefly explain how each skill was developed and where the skills have been deployed in the past. You can also include outcomes or results. Remember STAR Technique? (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
Football Captain? Hostel Rep? Choir Leader? SUG or Departmental Rep? You can include these skills – Leadership, Communication skills, Planning and Organising Teamwork, Problem Solving, etc…

Shop Assistant or Sales Rep? You can also include Customer Service as a core skill...
If you have volunteered on a project in the past or have worked on a group project with other students while at Uni, you can also include some skills developed and deployed in such situations.
Highlight your ACHIEVEMENTS:

This is very important. Have you won any awards in the past? Did you introduce any innovative ideas in your school or department? Did you champion change in your voluntary role? Did you raise money for charity or for any communal cause?.....
You need to include these special achievements on your CV, since you lack work experience. These achievements will stand you out and make you a preferred candidate over hundreds other competitors.
You don’t have to write a 2-3-page CV when you lack experience or have just graduated.

What you can do is compete based on your SKILLS.

Review job descriptions and person specifications and adjust your CV to suit these.

Share with your friends if you find it useful. Good luck!

Dear Nigerian Entrepreneurs, it’s 2022 and we must do things differently! That’s what smart entrepreneurs do. So, as you are working on those new year resolutions, please remember to commit to giving your business your all this year.
Commit to learn and unlearn certain ideologies and most importantly, commit to network!

I have made a commitment to share genuine opportunities with you throughout this year, starting with an opportunity for people interested in the Non-oil sector.
By now you should know I am particular about this sector this year because numbers don’t lie! So, if you already operate in this sector or aspiring to, you need to know about @fidelitybankplc's Export Management Programme.

I have been doing a lot of reading and research lately on some interesting trends that will likely reshape the Nigerian economic landscape in 2022 and what I can advise is for the Nigerian SMEs to please take seriously the non-oil sector.
It’s quite interesting to note that the non-oil sector was a major driver of the strong economic growth in Nigeria in Q2 2021 as stated by the Minister of Finance and Budget Planning – Zainab Ahmed.
This trend is likely to continue as several financial institutions are investing heavily in this sector. There’s likely something they’ve seen that we haven’t seen. For Instance, @fidelitybankplc’s unparalleled support for Non-Oil Export Businesses in Nigeria has been outstanding.

When I finished my MSc in 2011, I moved from Coventry to London where I immediately started a role as a Sales Assistant at Cancer Research UK. It was a voluntary role. I only worked 6 hours twice a week. I took on this role because I wanted to gain UK work experience on my CV.
I then got a role as a Customer Service Advisor at IKEA in Wembley, London. My Italian Manager at Cancer Research was so kind, she wrote me a reference for the role at IKEA. The pay wasn’t great, but I wanted to get more experience in the UK and improve my CV.
I got another role as a Call Centre Advisor at Fusion Contact Centre in Coventry. I was interviewed for this role and wasn’t selected. I applied again, got interviewed and got the job. All this while, I was applying for better jobs/PhD opportunities and was getting rejections.

In the last 10 years, I have been contacted by several international students who ran into trouble with their Universities per plagiarism. Most of them were able to pull through after taking advice, making amends, or putting forward a strong case. Some, unfortunately, did not.
Dear international students, you want to try as much as possible to avoid being in a position where you are accused of plagiarism. It can damage your academic record and even make you fail your course. You don't want all your money, time, and effort will go to waste.
Plagiarism happens when you present the written works and ideas of other people as your own original thoughts, works and ideas. Basically, this is cheating and cheating is academic misconduct. Try your best and avoid getting caught in this web.
