Democrats having a press conference soon, any clue what they may be talking about?

Five demands, nothing less.

Claudia Mo reminding everyone that this movement is a leaderless protest, and that she and the group cannot represent the thoughts of frontline protesters being brutalized by the police. They are only speaking from their own positions.
Mo: Carrie Lam's statement is clearly read out from a transcript. It is too little too late. The deep wounds of society will not be healed in this way. We need to be careful, because the govt is using this as a way to justify potentially more brutal actions against protesters.
Wu Chi-wai: Eight people have died, three eyes have been lost. Carrie Lam's so-called concession is clearly a fake concession; it is an attempt to divide HK society, so that attention can be diverted away from the government's allowance of police brutality.
Alvin Yeung: The IPCC is unable to perform the independent investigation that Hong Kong people are demanding. Carrie Lam's proposal of adding two people will not resolve the issue.

The withdrawal of the bill will also not convince the int'l community that HK govt is credible.
Charles Mok: The government is employing tricks to try and appeal to citizens; however, without addressing the root causes of societal division, nothing will be resolved.

The three months delay is not simply a delay – it was a derogation of responsibility by the gov't.
Fernando Cheung: Carrie Lam, where have you been for the last three months? Have you been on Mars? The problem is not about extradition; the problem is about the power of the police. The problem is lack of democracy.
Mo: "You can't use a garden hose to put out a mountain fire. Our young protesters are adamant that their five demands must be met. Where has Carrie Lam been? On Mars? She's been fast asleep for three months. This is absurd––and that's what Hong Kong has been too."
