The day you tweeted this, cash in circulation was Rs 17,74,187 crore, or Rs 17 trillion.

This Monday it stands at Rs 21,10,928 crore, or Rs 21 trillion.

You have anything to say, Mr Kant, or shall we just ignore this data and move on?
Because cash in circulation has grown at an average 14.5% year-on-year since 2014, Demonetisation has succeeded in reducing the cash in circulation by Rs 3 trillion.

Still, 21 trillion currently in circulation is not exactly a ringing endorsement of "towards a cashless economy."
Cash to GDP ratio in India is highest in the last three years and inching towards the pre-Demonetisation levels.

For Japan, it is 20%. A cashless economy doesn't necessarily mean a corruption-less economy.
With respect, pl see tweet above: it is 11.23% not 10% - maybe close to 12% right now.

Also, looking at the slope, doesn't appear as though DM has moderated cash to GDP ratio once and for all, at all. Unless you are planning another DM come November. WDTT
