So the prime minister has done it

Boris Johnson has now locked the doors of parliament for five weeks in the short lead up to the UK's set departure from the EU

Actually closed down parliament, so as to prevent his government being scrutinised by the people's representatives
The appropriation of "will of the people" to excuse the will of the executive is a shameful moment

So far has "will of the people" been robbed of meaning it is being used to justify locking the people's representatives out of parliament for five weeks during a national crisis
Brexit is now about raw brute executive power, unconstrained by the legislature and judiciary, and the fanatics and useful idiots who still support it

By the locking of the people's representatives out of parliament Brexit has lost any meaningful claim to be "will of the peolle"
