Yoga is the science of being.
Ancient yogis realized that the way we think is the way we feel.
When our mind is under tension, the body is also under tension.
Yogasanas were designed to relax the body, and in turn the mind.
They also observed that the way we breathe is the way we think.
Pranayama (Breath Control) were designed as a tool to relax the mind.
Yogis selected their diet that does not induce inertia in the system.
They did not overeat, neither did they starve.
They did not oversleep, neither were they deprived of sleep.
Mediation was a tool to observed the body and mind.
Meditation was not done to analyze the mind, but to observe the mind.
In order to analyze, you need to use the mind.
Meditation is a state of non-judgemental awareness.
Over time meditation creates a space between you and the mind & you and the body.
Western world sees yoga a stretching regimen alone.
It is the highest form of subjective technology to create a state of inner wellbeing.

1/ How Amazon wins bigly through a portfolio of small bets.

(Thread) ↓
2/ The secret sauce that allows Amazon to stay innovative can be explained by a mental model called Optionality.

Nassim Taleb popularized this term in his book Antifragile where he talks about things that gain from disorder.
3/ In an uncertain world where the conditions are always changing and information is limited, instead of trying to predict the future, thinking in options might be a better strategy for success.

2/ On building a 1 million email list and content creation:

• Make sure that your ideas are useful enough for people to trade their valuable time.

• It takes years of skills to learn how to find good and useful ideas and learning how to express them in an interesting way.
3/ How to find your voice:

• When you are starting out, there is no way around copying the best people in your field.

• But, don't do it from one person, do it with many. Over time, you will develop your own taste and style.

1/ A few months ago, I went down a rabbit hole of resources to learn how to use Twitter. And, I found @David_perell's "How to Crush it on Twitter" course.

I took the course and he didn't disappoint me. Here are my key takeaways from "How to Crush it on Twitter". (A Thread 🧵)
2/ David uses a lot of analogies to explain Twitter: Coffee Shop, School, Conference, Networking place, Newspaper etc.

He views it as an amazing place to get instant feedback on your ideas. He himself used Twitter to validate the idea for his Write of Passage course.
3/ Use your pinned tweets to highlight your personality and key ideas.

It could be a popular tweet or thread. It could be a reflection of your own philosophy and persona.
