China dominates the global pharmaceuticals market & could monopolize it
China could 'weaponize' and hold drugs ransom
Not only that but it is feared Beijing could add lethal contaminants to supplies
US hospitals and military hospitals could shutdown within months, experts claim
China could cut off America's drugs supply and hold lives ransom if the trade war escalates, defense experts warn.

Decades ago penicillin, vitamin C, and many other medicines were made in the US. Now they are made in the Far East.
China could hold America ransom and weaponize the drug trade by stopping the export of essential drugs, Rosemary Gibson, a healthcare expert, believes.
Not only that but Gibson says the Chinese could even sell fake medicines with no effective drugs in them or even add lethal contaminants.
'If China shut the door on exports of medicines and their key ingredients and raw material, U.S. hospitals and military hospitals and clinics would cease to function within months, if not days,' healthcare expert Gibson, told NBC News.
Christopher Priest, deputy director at the Defense Health Agency, told a U.S.-China panel this summer: 'The national security risks of increased Chinese dominance of the global API market cannot be overstated.'
The FDA says that around 80 percent of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) manufacturers are based outside the US, and for a number of essential drugs, China is the only option.
Many of these drugs have also been found to fall below the required standard by the FDA. 'Basically we've outsourced our entire industry to China,' retired Brigadier General John Adams told NBC. 'That is a strategic vulnerability.'
He believes Beijing has cornered the market as part of an overarching strategy which it could use in future.
Indeed, writing in the Wahington Post this week, two senior House Democrats, Adam Schiff and Anna Eshoo said this week: 'If relations decline further, the Chinese government could look for "pressure points" where it can wield outsize leverage or force a change of U.S. policy.
'Pharmaceutical ingredients could be such a vulnerability: By cutting back their supply or manipulating prices, China could cause pharmaceutical costs to surge. Or worse, we could experience shortages.'
