North Devon is typical of the seats Lib Dems complacently assume will vote for them. So they selected a parliamentary candidate there that thinks North Devon voted 57% for Leave because its residents are 98% white and she thinks lots of its voters are racist. 🤯

North Devon is the Lib Dems’ seventh top target nationally by uniform swing. They held it from 1992 to 2015. If they can’t win it back, the idea of a “Lib Dem surge” is pretty dead. And they can’t win it back if their MP candidate there thinks her own constituents are racists.
Five of the thirteen seats won by the Lib Dems are more white than North Devon. If the Lib Dems openly dismiss North Devon voters as racist because they’re white, let’s see how that goes down in Westmorland & Lonsdale or North Norfolk. #ConservativeGains
