Michael Crichton on environmentalism as a faith: There's an initial Eden, a paradise, a state of grace and unity with nature, there's a fall from grace into a state of pollution as a result of eating from the tree of knowledge, and a judgment day coming.

To be clear, burning dino juice ain't the best way to power our lives and we, in all our technological sophistication, can and should figure out a way to replace fossils as soon as possible.

But I really don't think environmentalists understand how creepy they sound sometimes.
send us your "Climate Confession." Good grief.

Here's a climate confession. Bulk of world's population lives in places like China, Indonesia, India, Russia, 3rd world. They don't care about climate change and won't do anything about it. US/EU self-regulation is not a solution.
Another good example of how modern environmentalism imitates modern faith: the idea of a heretic or denier whose ideas should be shunned simply for rejecting the conventional eschatology
anyway, we're going to have to think and innovate our way out of this. Or if you're really serious, sanction, blockade, invade states who refuse to get in line, then eliminate modern energy sources without a replacement and accept the economic catastrophe that follows. 🤷‍♂️
